Now that Elliot has their foot in the door. I don't think there's going to be any hiring. Why would we, we have to get cost under control first and in Wall Streets world that means cutting. If anything in the short term, I think we might actually see the airline shrink. I think we will see upgrades next year going to 12 to even 15 years possibly on the long end. The artificial boom COVID created is over.

Upgrade was very recently 6 years. The only thing constant around here is change.
Don't forget that according to those same people, to hold ATL as the bottom FO was gonna be 10 years or so... 🤣

When I said 5 years for my class to upgrade based on aircraft deliveries, retirements and projected hiring, people thought I was nuts... and this was before the MAX grounding. Lo and behold, on my 7th year anniversary, I was in upgrade class.

Our hiring and upgrades are tied to MAX 7. When the FAA clears it, that's when the music resumes. Meanwhile, the world is a much better place when trolls and idiots are placed on ignore list.

Time will tell. The Corporate raiding has not even begun, but give it time. These wall street folks know only one thing and only one thing matters to them and that is how much money will they be able to take from SWA. Article belows says SWA is quoted as saying the airline will end with 2000 less employess than last year. Does not sound like growth to me.

Southwest will limit hiring and drop 4 airports after loss (spectrumlocalnews.com)

Reading doesn't seem to be your strong suite, does it?

Here, let me make this part BOLD for you:

The MAX was grounded for 2 years.... Not Nostradamus, but maybe half a clue about math, logic and some reading comprehension is really all it takes.

So anyone who disagrees with your opinion is a troll or idiot? That seems to be the theme around here from you so called Progressives.

MAX grounding…and Covid. 2 big hiring freezes that slowed upgrade times. Right now is another…or we’d be seeing 2021 hires knocking on the door soon.
