Tough to do on 40 minute turns where we are always 35 minutes late. If it's worth debriefing, there's dinner/bar at the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm big on briefings/debriefings....when appropriate. But do them too often and they become fluff and lose their value.
Not critical stuff like takeoff and approach briefings, but the stuff like "hey, I noticed that you didn't call for landing flaps until 1100 and so we didn't start the Before Landing until 990"....that can wait until the end of the day if you only did it once.

I like to do the walk around so I dont have to talk to the FAs. I delegate that job 99% of the time. I also will do the walk around when it's raining so neither of us have to get wet.

Love it.
I do about half because why not? If someone's fragile ego can't handle going outside for 5 minutes and giving some winks and finger guns to the ground crew, they should probably do a little more self assessing in a reflective surface. Generally, I have jack and sh:t to do during the turn. If I get busy, then the other guy does it and sets the inside up while I slay the Dallas dragons. Easy peasy.

Yea, there are plenty that don’t do any at all and plenty that do quite a few. It’s an easy way to be a hero so I think it’s worth a guy participating.

you shouldn’t call the 4 digit mamas dragons no matter how gnarled their facelift looks. They’re gonna spit in your Coke Zero.

What doesn't kill me....

Flew with a smoke show a couple weeks ago that had a bag tag that said "Aisle Donkey" in giant letters. Looks and a sense of humor? I was in love for the two legs we were together. Then she broke it off and now keeps ghosting me.

Should’ve told her you had a Miata.

As an FO, I have no issues doing the walk-around, obviously, but it's always a pleasant surprise when the CA grabs one or two. I remember a few years ago, during IOE, the check airmen said after the 3-day: "I got this walk-around." I asked why, and he said it's just the way we do it around here, and 99% of the time, that's how it happens. This is the walk around I really care about; the others getting done are just a nice bonus to the trip, much appreciated but never expected.

I'd say 99 pct of CAs I've flown with (at UAL) have a simple system: whoever is flying the leg, does the box while the PM does the walk. Which makes perfect sense IMO. I can only recall a few CAs who insisted on never doing a walk. One guy refused to do the walk *or* the box for any and every leg, was too busy arguing with his ex wife over text during every single preflight we had. But that was just the one guy.
