With all this hiring talk, we’re still net negative pilots YoY. On a side note, at CQ this week they told us they just graduated 1,250 flight attendants, will have an additional 1,250 finish by the end of the year and another 1,250 after the first of the year. Is attrition that high, or is something else in the works?

SWA retired more pilots this year than hired as hiring only started very recently with the exception of a couple small d225 classes. I’d expect hiring to outpace retirements near year. If there’s been any FO attrition it hasn’t been significant.

Being that one particular topic is a staple of SWA debate culture, I wanted to congratulate a certain subset of our ‘family’ on a recent article I read. I would’ve put money on the Supra, I was wrong.

Im hearing word that hiring is going to be big next year, hopefully they'll drop the official number soon.

yeah that checks. Just not as much attrition off the bottom end to OALs as we saw a couple years ago.
