Rehashing the whole mil vs civ thing is dumb. I have flown with complete douche canoes from both backgrounds. We all suck equally.
Well said.

We don’t. This job isn’t that hard.

Pilot hiring has sent an email which states they have interviewed 518 candidates so far, and published the list of remaining candidates scheduled for interviews as of 11/10. There are 499 on that list. That makes a total of 1017 candidates that either have or will be interviewed. Take from that what you will.

Seems like a return to pre covid hiring percentages to me. I think many new entrants are caught off guard because all they know is the hiring insanity of 21-23. High times, LCA/mil, degree, and maybe a second shot at the interview were a pretty common theme.

With that being said, unless they start announcing what the future plans are and returning displaced pilots I suspect attrition will ramp up Q1. Can't blame a displaced pilot for jumping or a newb washing a resume when OAL's are hiring thousands and all we have are vague mentions as to what the future holds.

I’ve always been sadly disappointed with the leadership at all airlines when it comes to information. It would do the Pilot group a great service to be more transparent about future plans. We are all grownups here and can understand changes to plans for economy etc. just give us an honest picture with some real info.

Example—don’t tease a base with a timeline and then go radio silent. Our displaced pilots are suffering enough and need some sort of hope for their future (families suffer too damnit).

Thank you! Is that where the pilot stands in front of all the passengers to give a little speech? I’m more scared of public speaking than anything I’ve faced in the cockpit, so don’t worry, I definitely won’t be doing that haha

anyone have any actual info about class dates in the next year, and which interview dates are getting which classes?

You know, because this thread is called "Class Dates", not "Are Military pilots all they're cracked up to be?" ;-P
