Have a MKV Supra with a 6 speed. Love it but gotta ship the ECU off to Finland to unlock it to tune it since I wanna big turbo it. #BMWProblems

Yea. I've been debating how long I'll delay upgrade, both to shorten the time on reserve and to give me a little insurance against involuntary displacement. Of course, if I bid 100% LAX CA followed immediately by 100% LAX FO, all they'd do is downgrade me. I'll probably end up doing that instead of bypassing.

Not a bad plan. I bypassed OAK due to the ETOPS lock. Held DEN the next month. Will have to see what happens with the projection if/when the new base is announced....whether it's worth it to downgrade or commute for a bit.

The fact that Denver is now our most senior FO base is wild. With the amount of displacements continuing to unfold, I am curious how many captains choose to downgrade over commute. Minus ATL we have never seen a drawdown of over 25% of a base within a year. I am unsure how new hires are going to help so many displacements be undone. I doubt very few will leave the base voluntarily and even if they do that does nothing to help folks with DRR.

I hope SWA has some big plans to address the mess they have caused. With little to no info from crew planning except announcing more displacements I feel for all the families hurting on the west coast and beyond.

Have you considered adding OAK, LAS and maybe PHX CA before downgrading? Lots of flights between LAX area airports and those 3... I could understand accepting downgrade before commuting across the country, but these 3 shouldn't be much worse than driving from say Inland Empire.

What is considered to be the junior base right now? For a new hire, how long to hold MCO say? Thanks

MCO and BWI are where NH will likely end up, until a new base is announced to shake stuff up.

I admit im not fully understanding our standing bid in regards to displacements but, doesn't there need to be an FO LAX vacancy in order to get downgraded into it?
If there is no vacancy then won't they go to your 3rd choice etc?

If I understand it correctly, if it's a displacement, then no vacancy needed there. That's what triggers so many secondary displacements.
