Class Dates

And here we are. I do hope OP got a CJO and a class date, he seemed like a nice, genuine guy who was excited to work for SWA.

The latest internal comms say they have interviewed about 700 and invited 300 something to be employed. That's definitely a huge shift from the last hiring wave, and even other previous waves. Prior to 2021, the bar to get invited to interview was the main hurdle. In my interview group, we only lost 2/16 I think? Seems like now they have gone back to the previous (pre-2012) method of having the interview be a little more of a challenge. I would say the hiring winds have definitely shifted.
They don't tell us class dates. The new hires are usually the first ones that know those.
Best of luck.

Thread drift (and drifting in a Miata) on SWA threads is real. You just have to go with it.

I think this round they are picky but if the other big 3 hire as many as they say, and it definitely looks it, id say if SW is to hire more this yr they wont be as picky and hopefully they change it from a yr wait to 6 months and those can try again.
when I got hired it was very common for it to be people's 2nd or 3rd time. I know a guy who it took him 5 tries.
if this is where you want to be keep at it. I know I enjoy flying with those who want to be here v resume washers.

for next year so far they’ve stopped offering 12/15 and 1/12…open class dates are 1/19, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16

Seems like a return to pre covid hiring percentages to me. I think many new entrants are caught off guard because all they know is the hiring insanity of 21-23. High times, LCA/mil, degree, and maybe a second shot at the interview were a pretty common theme.
With that being said, unless they start announcing what the future plans are and returning displaced pilots I suspect attrition will ramp up Q1. Can't blame a displaced pilot for jumping or a newb washing a resume when OAL's are hiring thousands and all we have are vague mentions as to what the future holds.

I know for sure in the past 45 days, 11 of our displaced FOs have left for OALs. One is a friend of mine. He thought this would be his forever home, but after getting displaced almost a year ago and doing a transcon commute to weekend reserve, his marriage was developing serious cracks and he made the decision to go to United. The final straw for him was also watching senior pilots march right into his base that were not displaced, but able to do so because of the way our backwards domicile award process works. He realized that DRR meant nothing and was all smoke and mirrors. Anyway, he’s gone. He left 4 weeks ago and is at United now.
