Default Deadheading & Assigned Seating

What's the latest on assigned seating for DH'ers at the end of January? We have wording in our contract for how this is to be handled, but rumor on the street is the company doesn't like it and SWAPA is "working on it"...but there have been no real updates.

Do any of you have a DH on your board for the end of January? Do you already have an assigned seat?

Apparently SWAPA and SWA have yet to agree on how assigned seating will work. Since this is SWA, we no doubt are making easy hard and someone doesn't want pilots to sit in the "good seats". Compounding this is the lack of communication from SWAPA on this and the extended length of CQ for next year. Pilots are getting 5-6 day training assignments and booking their DHs now, some guidance or at least a heads up would be helpful.

On a related note, I was looking for the app on the EFB that used to take you to that report, and I can't find it anymore.

Another stellar ironclad language that we picketed for will fail.
reasonable, make every effort, time of booking etc come to mind.

Totally agree, however I guess I could also make the case that during negotiations there were no plans to go to assigned seating, so how much time and effort are you really going to put into ironclad language for deadheads in the event the company went to assigned seating? I'm glad they had the forethought to put anything in there at all under the circumstances.

Pros and cons…it wasn’t the only item in the cons column. But not enough to outweigh the pros.

And we’d be in a world of hurt had we voted no, knowing what we know now about the max7 and demand for pilots….

think FedEx regrets their no vote?
