AT/SWA SLI Question

"Double-breasted-hotel-van-admirals".....That is definitely funny!
(not totally accurate btw, I shared MANY hotel vans with DAL pilots while a commuter pilot, they were all pleasant and most struck up a conversation on the ride).

The only airline pilots I've ever seen kick people out of the van was American Airlines pilots in CLE in January 2002. The Captain kicked 3 Delta flight attendants out of his van.
I did share a van with an AE crew once in the fall of 2004 when i was on my captain IOE at Coex who mumbled they were per their contract they were to have their own van in gsp for a pre dawn go. Anyways they got their revenge, we pushed together but they turned perpendicular, stopped and powered up hard. Blasted our ramp crew very hard as well as our airplane, had I been on my own I'd brought everything to a stop and declared an injury and gotten tail numbers. Nobody was injured but i wouldn't mind them wondering about it their whole flight.

WRT UT football, that's a low blow... But unfortunately fairly accurate.
I am sure that you're a lot of fun to fly with on those long legs, a high-spirited, jovial, veritable barrel o' laughs. Every conversation that you have here seems to degenerate. I have no idea why your Delta buddies show you so much deference, but I see no reason for it. I guess that I just don't know who I'm talking to.
Here's another gem in the SWA contract - First Officers can avoidance bid Captains. Try to get those double-breasted-hotel-van-admirals like tsquare over there to sign off on that one!

But OK, I can take a hint. I'll leave you to your battles. Besides, this isn't as much fun as it used to be. I sincerely wish you the best of luck in your SLI, but I will never wish you to get what you and 1 seat want, because that would be screwing over a whole group of guys that didn't ask for this any more than you did.

I have absolutely no clue. My opinion doesn't matter, but if you are really interested, I'll give it to you anyway. Not original on my part at all, but what would seem fair to me would be to protect the original SWA guys that were hired prior to the creation of (Valujet or Citrus, I am not really sure which would be the most reasonable there... ) and then a straight ratio after that. The unknown there would be whether that would put ATI captains behind the most junior captain at SWA which would not be fair to them, unless there is a no bump no flush provision of some sort. Truth be told, this integration could be done pretty quickly because there are few variables to contend with. I'm sure that, like ours, everyone (except the most senior) will be ****ed, so it will be a fair solution. I sincerely wish you the best of luck..

Oh, and even the junky regional I used to work for had a captain avoid bid. Are you guys trying to give DL a run for being behind the times on technology or what? Still figuring out that whole VNAV, autobrakes, and autothrottles thing?

And, "double-breasted-hotel-van-admirals?" Yeah, but only from November to March.

Rather than ask for a raise and work rule improvements, just demand to be treated like your MEC for 4 months out of every year and you'll see a remarkable QOL bump.
I guess every airline out their copied your policy manual and contract. Hence why every legacy's contract is garbage, is barely profitable, and has terrible customer service. Perhaps these airlines would have been better suited to come up with their own ways, rather than copy yours.

Upgrades at SWA no problem at this rate
On a lighter note:
YouTube - Southwest Airlines The Making of Florida One
Funny how that 800 turns into a 700
If we could get them this fast I might see the left seat sooner than later.
Like a great American (Rodney King) said "Can't we all just get along?"
Then again he got his a$$ beat!
