"NO" path(s) forward

I am wondering why all the angst about PBS? If you got rid of PBS at Delta you would have a riot. Instead of just picking whatever line management creates, we get to build our lines from scratch according to our needs. Same with reserve. If I want to take a vacation, I just pile up reserve off days into one block and then go away with the family. PBS is way better than line of time. I don't have a dog in this fight so don't attack me, vote no if you want to vote no, I am just wondering why PBS has everyone so scared?
The other issue is the way PBS is being broached is sleazy. Rather than just put it in the TA with the parameters visible for all to see there will be a swapa committee talking with the company after the fact with minimal pilot input knowing swapa. Trust with the company and swapa is very low right now. This is a subject that needs to be discussed out in the open with lots of input, not in some closed door session.

SWA pilots are addicted to open time. The old school bidding system creates havoc every month with uncovered trips that result in premium flying. SWA pilots can turn 2 weeks of vacation into a very well paid 3+ weeks -- PBS would take that away and all vacations would pay the same.

I've worked under PBS and I was in the top 15% of the seniority list at the time. It isn't the worst thing in the world, however I will say that anyone that currently has at least 3 weeks of vacation at SWA will lose WAY more than they would ever gain from a PBS system at SWA. Sitting where I sit, I will vote no very loudly to any contract that includes Pref Bid.

Well. I'm currently on vacation for the month of October and I'm working 7 days this month and crediting 92TFP with 19 consecutive days off.

In our experience, trips touching vacation could be a great deal for some pilots, a good deal for some pilots, and a bad deal for some pilots (especially on reserve). Vacation bank tends to level out the value of vacation across the pilot group. In the end, whether or not vacation bank is better or worse for the entire pilot group depends upon the value of the vacation day for the bank. If you made a vacation day worth 20 TFP (extreme example) you would get 140 TFP for 1 week's vacation. Same is true on the opposite end if you make a day worth 1 TFP.
Like I said, I don't care how you choose, just trying to learn.

(I actually have agreed with him once or twice, but I may have been drinking at the time)
In my mind, there's more legit reasons to vote no. It clouds the real arguments to bring up the PBS red herring.
As the previous posters have testified, PBS is a non starter with SWAPA. I'll agree to meet and talk all they want...the answer is still NO.
Subsets? That concerns me.
Sec 1? That concerns me, but I think I trust the language.
retro v bonus. Still trying to figure out that math.
Retirement? I was hoping for more. Not sure if it's a total deal breaker yet.
I'm concerned that the wing of the SWAPA BOD that is trying to throw a coup is also the same group that doesn't trust it's own pilots to listen to the unions own paid industry analyst and is the loudest, angriest NO contingent.

Because most of us that have worked under PBS have had negative experiences with it. Fwiw, I've been through multiple 121 rodeos and the SWA vacation and sick policies & system are ridiculously good. THAT is why PBS bristles the hairs on the backs of those that know better.
PBS? Over my dead body. (Pretty much the same as codeshare relief....HELL NO!!!)

BTW, this "AF type" already voted "no".

I mean honestly, has anyone ever described themselves as a crooked shooter who's afraid of the truth?
If someone has to tell you they're honest, don't trust anything that follows.
