"NO" path(s) forward

i'll go you one better!
If we as individuals decided to stop picking up open time the operational disruption would cripple swa. I haven't picked up anything in over a year and i won't until we have a ratified deal.
The schedule southwest runs simply cannot be operated without voluntary pick ups. It is up to us to take a stand as individuals.

I don't really care about the path forward, although I think the company needs this TA worse than us and therefore might jump pretty quickly if it fails big!
The real equation is that this TA falls far short of our expectations, contains some gives (I won't call them concessions, though they may be,) to the company and for what? Sub Cola pay, very little retirement and no real improvement to reserve! Did we forget what we were asking for?
In addition this is being sold as superior to AA when in fact it trails the real bar set by Delta even though that TA was rejected. There is very little possibility that Delta won't realize the same pay as their TA if not slightly improved and that is one reason the company wants this done. They don't want the bar set higher.
It's an easy NO.

There's two big camps of no voters.
1. We need more money in lieu of the scope changes we're allowing.
2. We want the scope clause from the previous contract.
My informal poll is that we have No voters who are at cross purpose here.

This is the problem with hiring a bunch of AF types. They don't have any 121 time to have been through this game before. Therefore they tend to be "yes men" and obviously the company eats it up.
If you're not sure about how to vote, just do what the ex-regional guys are doing.

WHAHMASTER, you've been vocal about how you'd stab every SWAPA pilot at the first available chance, I can't believe anyone would listen to your opinion without thinking you had an ulterior motive.
Because lets face it, you have an ulterior motive.

I will however review the facts and information and vote according to the needs and desires of my family. Unlike many, my vote will also include the relationship with the other employee groups. Many of whom I have a trust relationship with that would trump any relationship I have with liars, deceivers, tax cheats, adulterers, etc. You really trust some of these folks to make an informed decision and speak for you? Not Oscar!
Good luck folks!

I don't have a dog in this fight, at least not yet. Take it from a regional driver that does 4 hour long legs in an RJ, scope is something you can never get back.
Having also gone through negotiations recently, fear seems to be the omnipotent motivator to vote yes. I'm finding it interesting that "what happens after a no vote" armageddon predictions also seem to be ubiquitous in this industry.
I hope it works out for you guys/gals.

Get a pension. What is the argument against?
Get great health care with higher limits and Decreasing monthly premiums and Copays.
Make your reserve a desire to go senior if you have not already.
Take care of the First Officers as well as the Captains who work less.
My recent jumpseat experience - 1. Why do you force pilots to remain on the aircraft with the pax? 2. What is the deal with pulling and putting in gear pins? 3. Why don't you have more control over bidding for training periods?
Not sure if the last 3 are real contract items or not but, I listened to the very nice crew who gave me a lift.
