Contract Negotiations room
#541
United pays $251 at 5 years on the 320. We are asking for almost exactly 5% less. I suggest we ask for industry standard. That's all.
For all you out there who have always thought you were never good enough or you never imagined when you were flying an RJ or Lear that you deserve more then I ask you to please not influence the NC and lead them to believe substandard is ok.
Because when you can't see this is THE BEST you are going to get.... and we are NOT going to get this in its entirety.... then what you're saying is "I will agree to substandard compensation again"
I appreciate a good pay raise is desperately needed.
What I'm saying is you guys are high if you think aiming for the fence is going to hit the moon.
I guess it's too late anyway, the ask was submitted. But if we back off this we will be back to the bottom again.

Industry standard for our peer group, for the entire pay package, will be different/lower/higher in some sections versus others within our peer group. You can not cherry pick the top pay for each contract.

Why are we asking for less than Delta/United right off the bat? If a TA is reached with those numbers, great, but it doesn't seem like there's much room to negotiate.
I also hope our pilot group is serious about holding out for full retro pay; the company can absolutely afford it and it's a slap in the face to come to any other conclusion.

If we, instead, were looking for industry leading there would be room for negotiations. But that is not what we're doing.
There is no reason why we shouldn't be paid standard rates...none. So this leaves the company little room to suggest otherwise. The NC is doing a fine job and they're positioning themselves appropriately.

Perhaps you haven't listened to any of the NC calls or attended any of the recent PUB events/ LEC meetings? We are asking for industry standard. Those numbers leave little to no room for negotiating. They are the standard and it's fact...not up for debate.

I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed. There's a reason it called the Negotiating Committee.

You are clueless, plain and simple....you reference United pay and then you say you want industry standard in the next sentence. They are different.

The 5 year United captain pay is hardly cherry picked.
It will be next to impossible to get industry standard when your starting negotiation position is industry standard. Plain and simple.

The NC has clearly stated they are asking for standard rates and there is little room for negotiating from them. Does that mean there will be no negotiation? No, of course not. However our resident dimwit suggests we should be asking for above industry leading in order to have negotiating room. That's not the strategy the NC is taking. They've presented reasonable numbers and have facts to back them up. There is no valid argument the company can make to counter these.
Nah, I'm confident I won't be disappointed. Thanks anyway.

Impressed to see the CA side empty for volunteers...
FLL is just a joke...CA side and FO side. The month has not even started yet and FLL CAs are already lining up for that sweet MUP to pay for that boat
