That's been my experience with him also. He just doesn't suffer fools very well. Come prepared, and you'll be fine. Come unprepared, and God help you.

Having personally been exposed to his tactics and with a 10 year + background in training, I can tell you his technique and delivery is flawed. Orals are very subjective and ANYONE can fail an oral examination. Outside of basic limitation, memory items and proficiency, anyone can bust systems knowledge specially based on the crappy teaching you get here. I understand at the end of the day he wants to teach, but when you tear someone down with your delivery, the person does not learn.

What is AQP?

Did Hatchet get fired or asked to resign?

there is no work underway to move toward AQP? I've only known AQP at my current job, but from what I hear, guys prefer it over traditional recurrent/PCs

The one guy hired to do aqp quit. My experience is it's much more learning and less checking.

damn that sucks..every quarter we do online CBTs so its a good systems refresher, then our SIM and oral is pretty straight forward some v1 cuts and then Line oriented experience, some scenario they run and see how we handle it..i don't think you can technically fail as in showing up on your cert as a PC fail, but it would be in the training departments records for the need for retraining., but I've only been at my job since AQP was already started so I have nothing to compare it to

Perhaps some are easier torn down than others...

Which one is The Hatchett?
The guy that yells all the time in CSI and the sim, or
The older guy that has a twin that works here too?

I've dealt with both the above, and was fine.

His name isn't far off from the nickname.

I would love to find out the real failure rate.
Also, the reason for guys washing out.
Are guys showing up unprepared (not knowing the flows etc)?

Im trying to get the real feel of the new hire training at Spirit.
