This road will end very bad for the company. It's safe to say every FO has apps out and half the CA list. They won't be able to hire or retain pilots if they drag their feet too long. With the growth they have planned. They won't be able to staff it. Fast upgrade is gone, and if they delay orders, I can't imagine anyone coming here.

Hey Mr first post ever/ford and Harrison/spirit manager
That's essentially what they just proposed and it's a nonstarter. Allegiant is having major buyers remorse knowing they will be stuck with that nonsense into 2024 when the big four start renegotiating agin in 2019.
Allegiant also doesn't fly the same routes as us

I'm lurking over here because I'm trying to follow the injunction proceedings, but if you'll allow me to interject... with regard to the "peers" comparison or my goals regarding "industry standard" pay and work rules, I consider any pilot in the US who flys a jet carrying between 150 to 230 passengers to be my peer.
My Company's business plan is irrelevant to me. If a Legacy A320 pilot makes $xxx per hour, why in the wide wide world of airlines should I make less because the management at my airline has decided on a *MORE* profitable business model?
Sorry for the intrusion, but I always bristle when I see posts that seem to accept the notion that the Ultra Low Cost portion of ULCC must also apply to pilot wages. FWIW, I'm sure management would agree with this notion. :-/

Bottom line is that Allegiant has better "pay" than spirit right now but there is no way I'd sign that same deal given the current industry and the 2019 negotiation timeline for the big 4. Lest we forget Jetblue and VA/AK negotiations happening at this time which I fully expect to be industry standard deals.
If we don't get it in this cycle we never will and if we don't recruitment is toast and the spirit growth plan we just be words on a paper. An industry standard contract is a must for us and them they just haven't come to realize it yet.

When I thought about getting stuck in the right seat...(anything can happen) ...could I survive at Spirit and live comfortably.
Trust me we got our problems it's not all blue skies...but at least we have all the blue poweraid we can drink during recurrent

I don't know how management gets outta this one.

I hope you dont honestly think you are going to get UAL or DAL type contract and money. Those contracts are decades in the making and are a completely different Airline than Spirit or even Frontier or Allegiant. I think if you look at the new Allegiant contract that is whats coming. The hourely rate bost will have work rule sacrafises mark my words!!!
UAL, Delta, American, SWA,
This is what a pilot costs. If you want to operate an airline, expect to pay the going rate.
Does Spirit pay less than Delta for an A320? Does Spirit get a case of Coke for less than United? How about Spirit getting a tug for less than American.
Anything less than parity is a NO.

All pilots are 100% behind you.
Yesterday I saw a billboard advertising for nurses in rural Ohio. $30,000 signing bonus.
Time to pay professionals the going rate.
Given Spirit's margins and profitability, their pilots should have industry leading pay, benefits and work rules.
