Default DTW Base ?

Is it possible to get the Detroit base out of training? What are the reserve callout times? Wondering if it would be possible to live 2 hours away and be on reserve.

3 hour callout? Well then I could live 2 hours away. Not sure why you said "no". Can you explain?

Airlines Parking. Section 5.G

KCM is a regular 20 minute wait walking in the wrong direction for Spirit gates.

Michigan winter driving conditions.

You could absolutely sit reserve at home. I live 2.5 hours from base and I did. This was a couple years ago so things may have changed with regards to staffing and how they are using reserves.

As you know it totally depends on numbers, but yes DTW while still in training is very likely and possible. 2 hrs out. YES! WX and traffic are out of your control so yes. I sat ~3hrs out on reserve. Never had an issue. You can watch trips and have a good idea of whats coming. DTW has a majority of early flights, it's not like we have 4 banks. Think twice before coming here, just looking at pure numbers you're going to be in the right seat for a long time on crappy pay! The quick upgrade window is closed. We have ~1900 guys now and that makes you a Professional First Officer at Spirit. Plus no contract in sight! The company has made no effort to contact the union to close the gap. So don't plan on a contract anytime soon. It will get a lot worse here before it gets better. We have a management team that doesn't value any of it's employee's.

This is correct. Don't make the same mistake I did. Stay far away from this place. Stay away.

Nailed it.

Also heard they are thinking of going to “virtual interviews” because they cant find good people.

This place is a complete embarrassment
