Sweet...so I can be contacted by scheduling via app, email and text! And I get get push notifications to my phone of a rescheduling attempt! Wow. So Cool!

Ill take the option of not participating in this app and "Crew Scheduling will continue to notify via methods listed in their CBA". Sorry but I wont be selling my CBA notification requirements because they have an app.

I wonder how long until they guy im flying with says "You download this app, its pretty cool" Ugh...
come on. You can’t be notified through the app. Its not a means of notification

I agree. If they want to notify us of schedule changes outside of the CBA approved methods, let’s talk during section 6.

Are we sure? I’ll stand by for further clarification.

Are you naive? It literally is called the "Automated notification tool" from the company. You dont think the company will try to use this on pilots as a way to reschedule? Its the exact reason why in the email they said its optional and pilots can continue to use the CBA approved method of notification thats spelled out in our CBA.

Is it positive contact per the CBA. Nope.
But neither is ACARS yet scheduling tries to do that all of the time and many pilots fall for it and take the bait. This is no different.

What do you think is going to happen when you get rescheduled via the app, you ignore it, you miss the trip, and they NOI you. Sure you are in the right but you'll have to follow up and fight it with the CP office/union. And for what? Because you wanted an app that serves no direct benefit to 99% of our time at work?

I just cant for the life of me understand why anyone would want crew scheduling to have more access to them.

This type of platform should be discussed through a MOU or Section 6.

We had this exact system at Endeavor. Notifications aren't official. You can opt out. You can accept the assignment, if you want, and that will mark you as notified. You can ignore it if you want. A call from the automated system is treated as a call from CS and is considered an official notification. It's not a bad system and can work to your advantage.

It is a slippery slope. But all it is is a notification on your phone. You have always been able to self notify on crewtrac. It’s just an app that does the same thing.

did you even read the email? And stuff the app sends doesn’t count as a notification unless you want it to. Heck, you even have to type in the name of the assignment and confirm you’re notified. If you want. Just another useful tool for us that doesn’t undermine any CBA stuff. Read the email..

Of course I read the email. Also understand what a slippery slope is.

are you naive? You said it yourself. It’s not positive contact. They can “try” anything they want but you literally said it yourself. “Optional”

just like answering a hotel phone.
just like responding to an ACARS.
just like responding to a carrier pigeon.

there are way more things you gripe about that are actually worth the griping. This is not one of them. Don’t download the app….. I sure didn’t. I just deleted the email.

Like the email says, if interested, sign up. If not, no problem

Bing bang boom. Solved. The big bad wolf has been foiled again.
