Summer meltdown
#451
Well, if misery loves company, I think NK will have plenty of company this summer. It’s not like NK management doesn’t foul up, but it looks like this time EVERYBODY from the federal government on down has fouled up. It’s not too surprising, it’s been 100 years since the last serious pandemic - not like you’d have a ton of people with post-pandemic recovery experience still in positions of authority. Even Slow Joe isn’t THAT old.

the flak will be thick this summer but NK will have a lot of wingmen drawing their fair share.

What airlines haven’t preemptively drawn down their flying in an attempt to mitigate these sorts of problems?? We did, JetBlue did, Southwest did, and I think Delta took a little off the table. Are there any that I’m missing??

Time for a bump..
Looks like Spirit is ripe for an Independence Day meltdown with the calls going out.
Remember that currently Spirit management is also not recognizing the limits on availability for the Y list that pilots are choosing. The example by the MEC was pilots can say they are available to work Y list on July 1-3rd, and the company currently believes that they can call you on the 3rd for a Y list trip that operates in excess of the 3rd. So Y listers, be careful if you answer your phone, you might find yourself tagged with a trip over holiday days you thought were safe.
Bottom line.....Going to be nasty this next week for Spirit with our staffing and the amount of flights needing to be covered.

Yup… lol. Not even on the X list right now, but got called yesterday afternoon for something that left tonight at 2100. Then got a call this morning for the SAME TRIP. Literally couldn’t find anyone in about 14 hours still so your going through it again. Good luck.
