Supposedly management offered less than current jb rate.

No reason we can’t get a solid increase now, and then hit a home run with the JCBA (that’s the NC’s focus)
Why do you make it sound like WE can’t hold out? I don’t think we pilots need to concern ourselves with staffing the airline or utilizing new deliveries. If management wants to right the ship they know what’s needed. If not, they can watch new attrition records be set.

Ah the old “ We’ll get ‘em next time” routine. Don’t fall for it.

Y’all are delusional if you think we’re getting or beating those “crappy Alaska rates” this round. We’ll be doing good to get current JB rates.

This is straight off of the Negotiations Q&A that the NC put out 1 month ago. Literally the very first question asked and answered. It’s amazing how uniformed some on here are, these are not just my thoughts, I do however understand the time constraints here. Don’t shoot the messenger.

FOCUSED BARGAINING
Why are we doing focused negotiations on limited important issues to the pilot group instead of a full Section 6 where we fix everything?

The short answer is time. We don’t have the two to three years that a comprehensive Section 6 would take before we need to negotiate a TPA and a JCBA. What we do have are multiple opportunities in the next two years to initiate bargaining for contract improvements. These focused negotiations are the first step of a multi-step process. At the conclusion of those efforts, having bargained a comprehensive JCBA or, should the merger fail regulatory approval, a comprehensive CBA as a stand-alone carrier, we aim to have in place a new agreement that will position us as a career destination carrier. These focused negotiations will pay our pilots while we negotiate the TPA and JCBA and provide a backstop in the event the merger isn’t approved that immediately puts us back at the negotiating table to bargain for comprehensive improvements.

That’s not what this is, but I understand how it comes off that way.

Definitely. But it has to be solid, otherwise I have the patience. Management has a problem with attrition, I don't.

I don’t think management realizes how bad their problem with attrition really is. A number of legacies are training constrained. They’ve given out CJOs that they won’t be able to onboard for 4-5 months. Guys/gals giving two weeks notice are simply the tip of the iceberg. Another 4 months attrition is already irreversible.

Par for the course for this management team. They’ll wait until their house is on fire to buy a fire extinguisher.
