That’s not at all what I said. Reading comprehension is important. First of all starting over is a big deal. I specifically said bottom half of seniority list, which is not 10, 15, 20 + years of seniority. Also throw in context of the theme that you have created of “the sky is falling” and suddenly “starting over” is comparatively much better. Btw if you’ve been in this industry for 15 or 20 years, you know that much, much worse scenarios were the norm in the early 2000’s. Starting over in this day and age would not be fun, but it’s a walk in the park compared to those times.

Anyone who's been here for some time that couldn't get on with a legacy before the flood gates opened must of had some serious skeletons in the closet. You think anyone who's been here 10+ years is going "oh thank god at least now it's easy to get on with a legacy"? lmao
You can’t get hired anywhere else because of your skeletons, I’m starting to understand your constant complaining.

Lets stop playing dumb. Anyone here could get on with a legacy in 2 seconds. But the fact people like you make it sound so simple as to "oh just go to a legacy". Well again, for guys who have been here 10+ years that isn't an easy choice to make. How that is lost on you concerns me. Or maybe you are just some 23 year old CFI new hire who just doesn't know any better.

All my skeletons are gay trans pregnant men. In the 90s they hurt me from being hired at a legacy, but today they’d be A+. I’ve decided I’m not going to exploit them in the interview process. To each their own.

Thats your rebbutal? Extremley weak. I thought I said lets stop playing dumb. Legacies litterally hiring guys the second they get any 121 type and you think some pilots at NK COULDN'T get hired at a legacy? This may come as a shock but the reason senior guys (although a lot are leaving now) are still here is NOT because they "can't get hired at a legacy".

Senior pilots don’t want to start over at the bottom. Got it, not exactly shocking info. They aren’t leaving because they are senior and can ride out a ****storm of furloughs and still hold lines in the left seat. Liquidation would be the only reason for them to leave, and there’s not a strong enough chance of that yet to get most guys with 10 + years to start over.
MANY a pilot from previous decades have faced this exact dilemma, after years of being employed by once great airlines in the past that were once great jobs but were strategically mismanaged into insolvency.
I for one hope and pray that NK survives and thrives, becasue history shows that struggling airlines rarely just evaporate, it's proceded by an extended period of struggle and crisis mgmt in which fares/revenues are trashed (bringing pain to the whole industry) to bring in any $$$$ while they "burn the furniture to heat the house" and go after labor aggressively as desperate labor groups accept cuts in $$$ and QOL in an effort to "save the airline" and unfortunately the death spiral usually continues once it's initiated.

It's the golden/lead handcuffs of this industry run with seniority lists. Experience only helps you get the next job at the bottom.
