Because Spirit is considered a low market cap public float company it gets 45 days form the end of the reporting period. So August 14th would be the last day it could file. The earnings will just show up on the SEC website in EDGAR when they are published.

And if you didn't get the point of my post, it was a rebuttal to your ludicrous comment that no airline as big as Spirit has ever gone Ch7. Spirit is not too big to fail.

Those Pan Am numbers are from 1990. They likely had a much larger market share than Spirit currently has. Air travel has grown SIGNIFICANTLY since 1990.

And you are correct, air travel has grown significantly since1990 and the number of airlines has shrunk drastically which hasn’t worked out great for the consumer. If we had 20 some odd airplanes like Silver I’d say yea sure we probably wouldn’t survive. But 200? I’m not so sure. Which is why I believe worst case is we have to end up merging with Frontier but hopefully someone better.

Spirit is obviously in serious financial trouble, and nobody is more aware of it than those who work there. If someone wants to stay and ride it out or get out as soon as they can, who cares? That’s their business. Some are too senior or old to want to start over, some aren’t competitive in today’s hiring market to go somewhere else, some are leaving, while others are simply rolling the dice. They know the potential risks involved here. Let them make their decisions based on what they think is best for themselves. Constantly rubbing their faces in it 24/7 is kind of a dick move.
Some stop and try to get the victims out of the burning car. Instead, the driver stays in the car and says, 'it's fine'. ... just another perspective.

No matter what happens, for me even a 50/50 Chance is a career risk I can’t take.

You say spirit is not too big to fail, I say it is. That is why I was suggesting reading the DOJs arguments from the trial.

I can understand waiting until Q2's earnings are published, but if the quarter's not profitable, that's a huge problem for Spirit being a going concern.
Perhaps Spirit can find additiional capital somewhere should they run out of money. Perhaps they'll go through bankruptcy a second time, but that requires a certain amount of cash on hand to be able to do that.
As for too big to fail, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
I sincerely hope that you and everyone else currently at Spirit have an actionable plan should Spirit close its doors.

Can say that again.
With all that said, while working the line at NKS, one honestly would have no idea of the financial challenges, behind the scenes. For the most part, the operation runs pretty well. Most of the aircraft are pretty full. Every once in a while you’d have an empty flight. But it would appear other airlines are in the same boat at the same time. Very few, if any, deferrals on aircraft. Waiting for gates has been very minimal. Unless you’re really early. Which happens often. There’s a fancy new HQ and training center. I’ll probably get shot for saying this but the company hotel is actually pretty nice and has a lot of potential. Better than some of the hotels we stay at.
The big thing is the absolute silence from the company. These occasional town halls are sort of hit or miss.
So as one working day to day, there isn’t much to signal the picture being painted here on APC. Not saying there’s no merit to any of it. But ne doesn’t have to bury their head to deep to be unaware. Part of the reason many are staying.

Different DOJ today. Different administration today; the current government isn't going to loan Spirit money.
