Spirt filed for Chapter 11 again

You’re right. But do you know how long conformity takes on a plane when acquired? They don’t hire pilots and f/a’s to sit around and wait. They will re hire when needed. Why take a 15 year captain when they can upgrade from within on the 3-4 year pay scale instead.
Whoever does it will cherry pick the assets. It’s cleaner and cheaper this way.

No trouble, assuming you were employed as an NK CA when you submitted and signed the relevant docs.
You could legally buy a massive house with loans based on W2 and then quit your job the day after it closed. Whether you can make your payments is a different issue, but defaulting is not inherently fraud.

There have been a few rare cases in the past where certain fleets were acquired with their pilots, but that's a lot harder today because I'm pretty sure that now you would have to take the pilots in seniority order, even if not qualified on the type. Unless it was a very senior fleet (eg. 777), it probably just makes sense for an acquiring carrier to train/hire internally. Although in the case of NK all the pilots are qualified on the type.

If a pilot stays because they think their seniority number will be taken with a new carrier, this kind of stuff is important to understand, because it most likely won’t.

This has nothing to do with fear mongering. It’s just the facts. Assets sales are a different animal than the reference you just pointed out.

Um, this is sound advice, sir…that I need to hear EVERY SINGLE F🤬🤬KING DAY! I really don’t know what I would do without these saints telling me to weigh my options. I WILL NOT WEIGH MY OPTIONS, nor will I prepare accordingly! I would be completely lost wondering what to do with my hands and wearing my skivvies on the outside of my trousers.
I just don't know what to do anymore.
