Crap. I just closed on my new house with my Spirit captain pay while knowing I’d already accepted a class date with United. The loan was based on pay checks that I knew before hand weren’t going to continue. What kind of trouble have I exposed myself too?

57 CEO right? If I read the filing correctly. All with loans. Many parked in Arizona. What’s the equity? Probably not much. We only sold what 2 of them so far?

The important part is what happens to the pilots. I mean as far as we are concerned. Someone can take the planes, they don’t have to take the pilots. There’s no good reason to either.

I like how there’s optimism, that’s good. But most have hopium and hope isn’t a plan.

You’re right. But do you know how long conformity takes on a plane when acquired? They don’t hire pilots and f/a’s to sit around and wait. They will re hire when needed. Why take a 15 year captain when they can upgrade from within on the 3-4 year pay scale instead.

Whoever does it will cherry pick the assets. It’s cleaner and cheaper this way.

100%. This isn’t a case where the whole is worth more than the sum of the parts. It’s the opposite. In the end, someone isn’t going to swoop in and buy the Spirit value meal, they will dine a la carte and employees won’t be on that menu.

As someone who has been through this song and dance before I wouldn’t wish the experience on anyone. This was also back when you were lucky to find any decent job, let alone a flying gig. All I can say is the money showed available in our accounts and was later debited back to the issuer. Where that money went or whether it ever actually existed I do not know. I also forgot to mention the part where the company neglected to forward several paychecks worth of payroll taxes to the treasury, which was a lot of fun to work out with the IRS come tax time. I still think NK finds a way to work something out with F9. Seems like a marriage has been Franke’s dream for the last decade. Wishing nothing but the best for you guys and gals…truly.
