Not in training, and not new to the company. I was out on disability, but have been back for a week now.

In fact, I've been back online long enough for the nice folks in scheduling to put me in a 6-day sequence of reserve starting tomorrow! But I don't have access to look at open time or reserve coverage to determine whether I might be used or not.

The trips inside of two days are now falling in line with how the contract was written. Unfortunately or fortunately it took them five years to follow it. It does increase reserve flying and decrease over time flying for line holders. I mentioned this would happen when the Skywest guy took over the OCC this past summer. It was his only airline and he was there for 20 years I think. The Skywest way is to have every pilot including reserves flying right at guarantee.

This is all the more reason why our rates need to come WAY up and we to stop relying on these rediculous credits to make money.

You hear that NC? I'm $53 an hour underpaid for the same aircraft in my seat! NOT including SCOPE, retirement, and LTD.
I sure hope you're talking about f/o rates, unless you've been here 5 years or better.

Id like the union to propose an LOA for a long call reserve system to the company. I think the company would love it and majority of pilots would support it.

Obviously the devil is in the details, so what details would you look for in a long call reserve system?

Min call out? 18 Hours?
Min days off? 15?
Eff this idea, it blows?

Fire away...

Yep, and when it was brought up at the TA road show, the NC stated "If you're in that part of the pay scale, too bad, you just upgraded too fast." I think upgrades were stuck at about 7 years back then. Anyway, it's the same clown parade in there today, so temper your expectations accordingly.

More power to ya, but that's going to set the training dept / staffing model back about what? 10 days?

Been here 1.5 years plus. Half of my class is looking to make the jump to AA or DL. If you're under the age of 40 or so you'd be doing your family a disservice in not exploring other far more lucrative options. Most would like to stay, but it's becoming impossible to justify.
