Spirit of NKS
I'm not bagging on the poster, but I wish I had a dollar for every time people I used to work with start to hear about our QOL, and then decide to get interested in NK, AFTER giving me a ration of sh1t for coming here over the "Big 3"....
I had no less than 17 days off in the last 6 months...
I have 10 days off in a row right now....
I bypassed captain 3 times..
2.7 years on property....
I have not spent the night in a hotel or away from home in 4 months...
Income? Well, it's not bad....
Think of this profession like another..
A doctor for example...
One goes to NYC and makes a killing working 6 days a week and long days..
The other opens a small private practice in their home town and spends lots of time at home...
1 makes a fortune in money the other makes a fortune in life...
It's all about what YOU desire out of your career...

Would someone mind elaborating a little more; specifically on the LAS schedules? I looked at flightradar24 a few nights ago and noticed several NK aircraft inbound to LAS pretty late, which made me wonder a little about LAS commutability.
Can anyone shed a little light on this?

Waverider,.....totally agree. To add to it. So SWA guys make more than we do. First, let me say I do not believe they should before y'all crucify me. But. They work much harder too. I average about 85 hours of pay and block 70ish. This as a 8 yr guy. I'm assuming, ya I know, that a SWA guy must work 85 trips to get 85 based on their by trip pay. That's why they go so damn fast everywhere. Personally, I enjoy working less and getting paid more. To each their own.
Disclaimer: I no way is the author stating our pay is just fine, industry leading is my opinion and work less. That is all.

Did everyone hear that we're ordering A330's at the Paris Airshow ? Or was it Farnborough?*

DTW FO union representative Todd H is asking MEC to approve a resolution that would have the MEC and negotiators sign the company's confidentiality agreement. I told a secret, no more need for confidentiality. Get it?

Rumor has it that we may be opening an MCO crew base. That we are already recruiting and advertising for local flight attendants.

The recruitment adds specifically state that those jobs are for FLL. Just like the IAH job fair states that the jobs are for DFW.

I agree with what everyone else has said, (as long as we keep our work rules in this next contract) the schedules are great with a decent amount of flexibility. Also please don't come here for the 2 year upgrade, I will be on third year pay in a few months and I am no where near upgrading, I figure it will be 4 years total maybe 5 before I upgrade, which is fine with me as I didn't come here for the "quick" upgrade. Also if you live in base it makes the schedules that much better, I had always commuted before coming here, and living in base is great!

Sure, no problem. Don't think I will be able to help on LAS schedules, as I'm FLL based, but I can try to answer any questions.
I'm not really buying the doomsday projections. The upgrade times are based off current aircraft orders and growth, but just because nothing has really been announced past 2021 doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
This company is heavily influenced and focused toward shareholder return and stock price, both of which are heavily dependent on growth. I think plans just haven't been announced, doesn't mean they're not being planned.
Also, in today's climate and probably for the future, growth is survival.
Of course, anything can happen and we could all be flying in the same yellow planes but, instead of it saying Spirit on the side of it, it says Scoot. Who knows?
