Totally disagree

Seriously Ram, can't tell if you're serious or not anymore. You've become really bitter if you think our FAs don't deserve KCM. They have been through a lot and have been getting screwed for years. If they screw up that's their fault but there's no reason they shouldn't have it.

If you're going to pick a fight, say no FAs deserve it. Not just ours.

Well, screening the people that control the airplane = stupid.

Allowing cockpit access to what could potentially be an 18 year old jihadi that managed to NOT have a record, and managed to pass a three week training course = stupid.

Just my analysis.

Just a question about one of our pilots. So I was deadheading on one of our flights, we all boarded (full flight), sat at the Emerg exit, but the front crew wasn't there, eventually they made it in, did their stuff, door closed, CA came out, grabbed the Phone and started his PA, lots of info, keep in mind it was hot, pushing close to 20 min late, etc. What caught EVERYONE by surprise was his explanation on how to close the foward lavatory door, " -DONT SLAM THE DOOR, IT BOTHERS ME WHEN IM RELAXING-" then proceeded to the lavatory door and showed everyone what he meant, "slam the door, closed it softly, slam, soft, slam, soft".....after that, some other weird remarks... Drops the phone (my add) and walks away with 145 open mouths.

Has anyone experienced this?

To his credit, the one thing that bothers everyone, generalizing here, is the AM visit to the lavatory after the coffee and the banana that people do.

That was the point, if FA's are going to have KCM, ours might as well also

The FAs definitely deserve it, they're crew members just like we are and are the first line of defense against the bad guys sitting in the passenger seats.

I agree with you on TSA. But, our pilots go through a six week course, does that make them twice as safe? A pilot has a LOT more ability to negatively affect the security of an aircraft than a FA does. But, there has to be a level of trust, a level of trust or we paralyze ourselves.

Thank you for making my point.

Most ridiculous statement ever... anywhere.

Pilots don't pass a GED and 6 weeks later walk into a cockpit. Even if they did, THEY CONTROL THE PLANE. No weapon required. Flight attendants (even the ones with a PhD) would be hard pressed to win a wrestling match with me, and even the ones that could take me, I'd appreciate at least a fighting chance.

I'm not really sure what was so ridiculous about my point. I was happy our FAs finally to be enrolled in the KCM program. Its about time. Are you worried that our FAs finally receiving KCM status will negatively affect the security of your flight?

Not screening ANYONE that doesn't already control the aircraft is a security risk. This should be plainly obvious to the most casual observer. Couple the control issue with ZERO barrier to entry and you have a recipe for disaster. I'm not saying other FA's should have it, but ours shouldn't. You said it's a good thing ours are getting it, I said something like another win for aviation security.
