By the way, it is a great time negotiate, but the company has no reason to give us anything in a hurry. It's not like we're quitting in droves, they can't find people to hire or they cant find a capt in FLL who doesn't want to fly 150hrs a month. Attrition is at a trickle, hiring is running smoothly and WHEN/IF that changes things will move. Then and only then.
Of course they could just reward us out of the graces of their good hearts and it could snow in PHX this july.
Moving on.....

I dont see how this is NOT attainable. What do we have to make concessions for? There ain't any pressures on this company, not like when the last TA was done. Remember y'all, there will be issues and pressures down the line for Spirit, just like all the other airlines. The environment is favorable now, this place is making gobs of cash, NOW is the time to get a fair and equitable contract. Will the negotiating committee continue to serve?

Amongero was intoxicated with power. He leaves his position with no metals, just shame.

I believe this is a positive change for our union. I ran on the platform of change and transparency in our union, i.e.. finances. The MEC knew that if we were elected they would be held accountable, so they propped up Pachofsky and Ackerman and campaigned for them, not knowing that they too wanted transparency and true accountability of our union. The MEC works at the behest of the LEC's, unfortunately this recalled MEC always had it backwards and believed they were the ultimate leaders. They never saw it coming, now is time to focus on cleaning up the hierarchy and realigning our leadership within the ALPA SPA Bylaws. Then it is time to negotiate an industry leading contract, not some extension of our current industry lagging contract. Congrats to our LEC's for stepping up to the plate and doing what is right.

Also I wish people would stop saying MATCH with 401k. Match is why they are getting away with only giving us $17.5k a year if you're maxing out. It also forces you to contribute when you may want to invest elsewhere. We need 16% of wages contributed to 401k all the way up to the max combined for employer and employee of $53k. If you want to put in too, great but you shouldn't have to. Also if we get the pay rates we should having a 16% match would again leave money on the table for those at the top of the scale because money you put in is eating into money the company could be putting in.

Yes it's a staffing concession. Same with 8hrs of scheduled flying per day. Say hello to a bunch of long red eye turns if that goes away. Fine if they pay two calander days at our new 6.5 min day.

As for the 401, I haven't had anyone say they don't want a DC. What I dont want is it phased in over years. We need to go straight to at least 12-15% at DOS.
Hey Nelson. You guys backed Ackerman and Pochofsky. How did that work out for you? " back to tribal warlord culture"
Amongero said, " the NC works at my pleasure" . I wonder how much pleasure Ackerman will have. Good riddence NC.
Too bad De grenier and Hershon now labeled themselves as the minority in this issue. Now anything they say can be construed as divisiveness, and against the best interest of the pilots.
