This is a great book. I think if you have Amazon Prime it's free. At least I was at one time.

Is most of the South America and Caribbean flying being done by the FLL crews?

Quite a few out of DFW and IAH, but the lion's share comes out of FLL.

Not to say that an ORD crew, as an example, wouldn't have a jungle turn built into their line.

Ladies/Gentleman,

I was hoping you could give me an idea of what hour requirements Spirit would hire with military background. I am still a while away from putting in any applications to anyone, but just doing my research. I'll have 1500hrs (I know that is half of what Spirit ask for) but 2/3rds of these would be from a 4 engined 757 sized jet. Would I stand a chance or should I be aiming for regionals first?

Any thoughts/opinions/reality check much appreciated.

I'd try for the legacies, primarily UA or DL, first. You shouldn't have to mess with the regionals or LCC's at all honestly.

I think the mins now are 2000. I think they gave a little relief for at least 1 military guy when the mins were 4000 but I believe he went to multiple job fairs as well.
I have to know what a "4 engined 757 sized jet" is.

1500 is a little low, do you have IP or EP? Will you be current?

If you're current, and you have your ATP you might get a call.

I would work your contacts for a legacy gig, but don't do a regional unless you absolutely have no other option.

I had 3950 and bombed my first job fair. Did well enough on my second that I got an interview.

"4 engines 757 size" could be C-130J stretch, C-17, or one of the -135 variants.
