5,500 hours to make 35k. That's mind boggling.

OE is being scheduled for 35 hours for upgrades and 30 for new hires. Not that it's far from 35 for both.
I must have misunderstood.

I agree with you fully. Once in the past it had worked, but nowadays most regionals offer that much to start off, making LCCs which insist on such low compensation highly undesirable IMHO. However, what if someone wants to move out of the regionals and into a more stable airline? If the legacies are not calling, Spirit will have to suffice, I dare reckon.

A few years ago I believe you didn't do much better at the big 3 (I guess it was big 4 then) on first year pay. Hopefully Spirit's new contract will show improvement.

Nah, that's what we were taking about. It changed at the last minute. I know because I wrote the new OE workbook. It's in there. Added for leadership training.

2nd year at Southwest is about to go to $125/hr. Spirit FO's are at $72 and max out at $109. Hell, some of our captains don't even make 2nd year 737 pay. Think long and hard about coming here. We'd have to get an 75% raise just to match them. Think that's even in ask right now with this union?

Is it $125/hr or $125/tfp which is how SW pays. $125/tfp = $143.75/Hr

I used the APC data $97/hr X 1.28. Your numbers make an even more pressing case that our leaders had better pull their head out of their arse and get after it. Or step aside.

I haven't seen their TA. Is it $125tfp or something else?

Would you guys recommend driving to training so you can have a car or is it not really necessary? It's a 2 day drive for reference.
