Well, for starters.. i live in S florida, second is that I own some real estate and a small stake in a growing company, so money really isnt an issue for the time being... We are about 3 years or so away from being bought out, so I dont want to quit flying just yet, only in my early 30's.... Im getting tired of commuting and flying RJ's. So, QOL and not commuting is a big deal for now... Spirit will eventually get a contract. Never did hear an answer to my original question which was asking if FLL is still junior for FO's, how long would it take to get a line there if I got hired today and what the most junior lineholder DOH is? I would probably never plan on upgrading anyway, just QOL and flexibility in my schedule thanks

The best answer to your question is to look at other regionals. I hear Republic and Envoy are hiring, and both have MIA domiciles. The regionals are all the rage now for aviation hobbyists such as yourself who have no desire to make a great living.

You asked for a straight forward answer. I feel like you should ve able to get simple questions answered. On behalf of our pilot group, I apologize.
I dont have an answer on DOH for FLL, but your classmates will all want different bases. In my '16 class we all scattered after IOE, and people who wanted FLL never had to go anywhere else. There is also monthly movement between bases. I would guess no more than 1 month out of IOE -- for the above reasons plus the fact that FLL is such a large base. The last vacancy award had the most upgrades in FLL which also bodes well for you.

Exactly. I love the hobbyists This is my living. Every hobbyist is willing to accept less for "flexibility".

Well since money is not an issue you, and it sounds like you live close enough to FLL to drive to work I would suggest just bidding RSV. Our RSV over here is a lot different than the Regionals. I actually live in another base and bid RSV on purpose. I am able to bid into conflicts on RSV every other month, and if you want to drop days, its easier to drop RSV days compared to a 4 day trip. In July I flew 8 days and only blocked 29 hrs. I had bid into a conflict that month, so my first five days of RSV on July 1-5 of RSV were dropped. So I did not go on call till July 10th ( so that month I did not drop any days at all).

Gert,

In the upper left corner of the Spirit interview page there is a green tab labeled "Interview Questions / Answers". If you click on that tab it will take you to the study guide section. Good luck on the interview!
