Based on indirect knowledge, my guess is 1500+ turbine PIC puts one in the running.....

I don't see how Spirit went from hiring people with not much over 2K total a few months ago to now only looking at applicants with 1,500 PIC. I don't think the contract changed things that much

I was interviewed and hired about four weeks after the contract passed with less than 3K total time. I was not the least experienced one in my interview group who got hired. I don't think the experience qualifications have changed that drastically.

For the last year you have played the "Is Spirit good enough for me, or should I go to a regional"...you finally apply and you get the TBNT.
Lesson for the kids; dont contemplate about if you will "take a job" before you actually have a job offer in hand.

Although I do not ask my FOs what their experience level is, they often volunteer that info some time along the pairing.
I have flown with many nice young newly hired FOs recently.
Leaning on the "easygoing" side of the authoritarian spectrum, I don't have issues with minor mistakes, and there are a few of those.
Having said that, I am frequently surprised by how well most of the brand new folks do, in-spite of their low experience.
I find that creating a stress free no blame environment, brings out the best of everyone's abilities and skills.
There was only one occasion where bad attitude, combined with a below average flying ability, almost became an issue.
That particular FO is rapidly creating a negative reputation.
We still hire very low time pilots and will continue to do so.
The new contract reinforced this is not a management that cares.
Sandi F. is probably one of Spirit's greatest assets, along with Rich E., the Safety/ASAP gentleman.
Spirit is no one's first option...
Good luck to you all.

Sounds like Spirit did you a favor. Now you can focus on getting on at Endeavor.
