So you think NK will never grow beyond 177 airframes?

They’ve said publicly for months an order will be placed... the question is what airframe, how many and when not if...

The only way we don’t grow is because of a merger which is a different set of problems.

I agree, an order is coming. Next week or next year is anyone’s guess.

Getting tired of the regional thing
Just some quick math.. 2000 pilots now. If you got hired today you’d need pilot 4000 to get hired to see the left seat. They’re saying 60 month hire but with washouts, retirements, occasional hiring slowing it’s probably closer to 25 or less net. 2000/25=80 months or 6.6 years would be a number to plan around.
Unless they break ground on this training center and can really ramp up there just doesn’t seem like much more room in the training department.

It gets mentioned in the same breath as the new HQ building.

Quick math often equals bad math. What is the attrition rate and are there no mandatory retirements in those 6 years? None of the top half are still in the right seat or management pilots?

Your overall estimate does sound reasonable, though.

Never say never. Guys need to know the current plan. You have to adjust accordingly. In good faith you can't tell guys 2 or 3 years to Captain anymore. With no new Aircraft orders we are hiring PFO's. Anyone above ~1500 on the list is going to be a FO for an extended period of time. Hope I'm wrong..
