Not trying to get into an argument; but isn't that a nasty statement? I'd like to think we are a nice group of pilots here at Spirit.

I believe we are an excellent group. I'm not sure you've followed him but he has made several negative (even derogatory) comments about Spirit while possibly seeking a position here (?). It's hard to understand why he would want to work at NK. He has mentioned how he would probably be better off going to Envoy, many times over. And won't stop mentioning his cushy corporate job that pays around 70k, according to him. As another poster said, Spirit did him a favor, can't see him ever been happy here.
All that aside, I wish him something better than a regional. Maybe he has a shot at Jetblue, Alaska, Southwest, or even Delta. He would be much better off than coming to Spirit anyway. To him, good luck! Apply to a job you are going to be happy, adjust your attitude, and enjoy the rest.

Although I do not ask my FOs what their experience level is, they often volunteer that info some time along the pairing.
I have flown with many nice young newly hired FOs recently.
Leaning on the "easygoing" side of the authoritarian spectrum, I don't have issues with minor mistakes, and there are a few of those.
Having said that, I am frequently surprised by how well most of the brand new folks do, in-spite of their low experience.
I find that creating a stress free no blame environment, brings out the best of everyone's abilities and skills.
There was only one occasion where bad attitude, combined with a below average flying ability, almost became an issue.
That particular FO is rapidly creating a negative reputation.
We still hire very low time pilots and will continue to do so.
The new contract reinforced this is not a management that cares.
Sandi F. is probably one of Spirit's greatest assets, along with Rich E., the Safety/ASAP gentleman.
Spirit is no one's first option...
Good luck to you all.

Got a bit of a dilemma here..I have a class date for August 13th. I was notified by my military unit that they need me to go to the Instructor Pilot Course on August 5th. Could I request a later class date from HR or would I be taken out of consideration. Since the email they sent me says that you must start within 90 days of the job offer or you will have to re-interview for the position. Any feedback is much appreciated.
