Note the similarities, prospective Spirit pilots: both these guys who got interviews are a pilot who was likely qualified, had internal recs ("a friend of mine" and the poster is a current Spirit pilot), and went to a job fair.

Even YellowSuitGuy checked all these boxes - qualified (future Captain), internal recs, and job fair. That's the 'secret formula', right there. Then he rocked it at the interview. Awesome! That might not be the way to show you want the job at some other carriers, but, here at Spirit, it fit well with the company culture (or at least what the big cheeses want it to be).

Find a way to show Spirit that you are a guy who wants the job and is going to be great to fly with. Most of the interviewers at the job fair are pilots, not management or HR. Its pilots talking to other pilots. If you were sitting on the other side of the table, what would you want to see, what would you want to hear?

And remember, at the job fair, "the eyes have walls". Are you being watched? Yep, constantly. Not just for the 5 minutes you are being interviewed either. Be the guy Spirit would want to hire, the guy Spirit pilots would want to fly with, for the entire job fair.

That is what 'YellowSuitGuy' really did. The suit was an extension of the person - he wanted the job, and showed HR he was someone Spirit should want to hire, and showed the Spirit pilots he is someone most of us would like to share a flight deck with. And with that yellow suit he HAD to be "on" for the entire job fair, he had to leave a positive impression with everyone who he talked to, because you can be sure he wasn't going to get away without leaving some impression with everyone. So, be him - leave a good impression with everyone (pretend everyone is going to notice everything you do), be the guy Spirit should want to hire. Be the guy YOU would want to hire for the entire job fair. Then, cross your fingers and hope you get the call.

What someone should expect after a Job fair, if the "meet and greet" with a pilot recruiter went well?
Phone interview followed by invitation to the formal interview at HQ? What has been the experience of job fair attendees, recently hired at Spirit as a result of job fair attendance?

I could t have said it better than NedsKid said it. That pretty much is the secret formula to getting hired on here.

It's going to continue being a great ride too!

So after the Cognitive test they'll call in a month or so? Is that the norm? Thanks

There is no norm... Some got the assessment test before going to the job fair or phone call. Some get it after. All I know is, it can be 2 day or 2 months to get the call after the job fair. My process was the opposite of the guy who I talked to, that was hired 2 months before me.

Last week some time.

And Nedskid I'm not a spirit pilot, just very excited for him and helping gather info. He's a current regional CA though and apparently rocked the job fair. Good luck everyone

Once the process starts, things happen very quick so be ready. I went from initial phone call from HR to sitting in class within about 10 days. That includes interview, urinalysis, etc.

Thanks for the insight, I wasn't sure what kind of time frame I was looking at.
