Anyone know how to update flight hours in the application? I had to step away from my computer in the middle of inputting my flight times and now I can't get back to the page. It allows me to edit everything else.

Does anyone knows if is true that to get called for the hiring process you need to go the job fair first?, other wise you don't get called.

You can get called without a job fair, but it is very rare. I personally know 2 guys that got called without a job fair, they had good internal recs. So, it does happen, but they knew people. Im sure its like 90% that get hired go to job fairs and the other 10% is just knowing the right people. Im sure 1-2% slips through the cracks and gets called without a fair or knowing someone... so it happens, but dont get your hopes up.

1/2 of my class never attended a job fair, but they each had 2-3 letters from Captains, fairly senior ones as well. Don't know if they would have had the same results if the letters were written by FO's.

I have heard of one guy recently getting hired without letters or a job fair, but as mentioned earlier, it's exceedingly rare.

The best combination is a job fair and a letter or two, even from FO's.

Thanks for the answers, I guess the best bet is to go to the fair. I have a friend who works in the training dept. wouldn't hurt ask him for help too.

Best of luck with the hiring process. It's true the job fair increases your chances of being called for an interview, but it's not required. I attended two job fairs before I received a call for an interview.

The future is bright here at Spirit, hopefully your patience will be rewarded.

Lobaeux,

What did you do or say that was different at the second job fair? How did you make it something other than a repeat performance?

Haha! For starters, when they asked me where Spirit ranked in my choice of airline, on my second job fair, I didn't say "#2, behind Alaska" like I did on my first one.

My first job fair was the first one I'd ever been to, didn't have a clue of how these things went. I was a little more polished for the second one having attended an Emerald Coast seminar.

I felt the same way. My first, I didn't know what to expect. With the 2nd one, I had an idea what types of questions I would ask, and was more prepared for it.
