Do you understand that there is a process that has to be followed by law ? The company is using it to its full extent. ALPA has no influence on speeding up the process. It sucks, but it's the way it is. Blame the company for their stalling tactics, not the union.
All we can do is support our union and decide when time to vote, if all these lost years are worth what's on the table.
If you can't wait then leave, and go make Allegiant pilots miserable with your negativity.

After 8 years. Look man the only reason they got a contract was because the company needed one. They couldn't attract and keep pilots. Had nothing to do with the teamsters being an amazing union.. Lol

It's funny how we are so quick to restrain ourselves when the other side does not play by the same rules.

Every time we discuss becoming more agressive there is a group of guys who display battered spouse syndrome and consistently tell us not to rock the boat. They say the mediator won't like us or that the union shouldn't provide guidance on legally available actions because the mediator will use that against us.
It's all BS. Every airline out there uses legal tactics to motivate management to negotiate.
From Delta pilots marching on one hub after another all the way to their HQ. AA pilots writing up worn placards and broken coffee cups, SW making very public displays... the list goes on and on.
The company plays both sides, they negotiate while NOIs go up etc.
Why are we all so convinced there is nothing we can or should do.

At the ALPA carriers I have worked at before, ALPA absolutely got more for me than Teamsters ever did. I worked for a carrier that was Teamsters and we went thru the process to get ALPA on the property and the difference was night and day. Teamsters suck and you can have them. Your ridiculous little rants on here aren't going to change anybodies mind.

So if you are so set on Teamsters, go ahead and try to get Teamsters on the property. Put your money where your mouth is.

Yeah, thought so.

Picketing has been done and reported in the press. More coming. As far as writing up airplanes, this is everyone's decision, but cannot be ordered by union.
I am sure you have tons of experience dealing with a mediator, so go ahead and step up. Oh wait you just prefer to ***** on a forum...

Anything else ?

You're right. I've never negotiated an airline contract but I have participated in negotiations with mediators and arbitration in a past life.
And you don't have to have a law degree to know what a group who's afraid of their own shadow looks like. You can spot them a mile away.
I want to support my union. I just want them to take the gloves off. Most of us still have plenty of fight. The rest of you can just thank us when it's over just like I thank the guys that had the stones to go on strike last time.
