I heard JA secured free water on deadheads in exchange for dropping tx conflict language. That's awesome. It's so nice to have a friendly relationship between union and mgmt

I almost got Jimmy to revisit that iPad agreement. I said that it wasn't fair for the company to pay for those, while the Frontier guys bought theirs! I mean, what are those guys going to think when we merge you two???
High five guys!

Kudos to the last guy on the call to ask the payscale slope question in its proper framing by calling it essentially a B scale.
I am not at all satisfied with the NC response. While I agree it will be expensive and difficult to fix right now, they created this God forsaken slope in C2010 and now, we want it fixed.
I don't give a shizz about the fact that fixing it would seem unfair to the senior guy as it would mean the jr guy gets 50 bucks and he only get 25.
What is fair about the jr guy trailing industry payrates by like 50 dollars and the senior guy being right at IA? that is extremely unfair. the fact that he even brought up this sort of rationale makes me think he doesn't get it and we need new blood in the NC.
The first thing these clowns need to acknowledge is that there is a unfair slope to the payscale. until they acknowledge that fully, they will not be too concerned about fixing it.

What's with the "can't disclose details" stuff? That's total bunk. They're hiding behind this. Same as politicians and the like. If it might shine a bad light on them they "can't discuss details" but if it makes them look good then they can talk till the cows come home.
What was our offer? Can't discuss! Why did you tell us we were close? Can't discuss! What value did you put on transition? Can't discuss!
There are ways to be transparent without giving up state secrets guys.

Can someone explain to me how delaying the process of flattening the slope on the pay scale is beneficial for the pilot group? It seems to me, the company proposal is trying to keep the majority of the pilots (year 2-8) in a zone where they make substantially less than their peers. This seems to be a win for the company as it keeps a majority of the pilots in a sliding window of further below industry average rates throughout the duration of a contract term. If we delay fixing this until the next contract 2020 or later, will we not be in the same position we are in now? Unless a majority of year 3-6 guys leave.
Edit: Sorry. Didn't realize guys were already talking about this as I was slow to type and think!

Another guy hit the nail on the head by saying at the current rate of hiring, we have most of our seniority list comprised of relatively junior guys longevity wise. If the negotiating committee decides they don't want to fix the unfair slope to the pay scale and pay senior captains industry rates while sacrificing the pay rates of guys in the middle of the pack, the negotiating committee has another thing coming to them. They will have a very hard time selling this to the majority of the pilot group while the contract benefits the most senior captains.
