That right there is a red flag, a NC should be composed of our peers. It should be a mix of the whole pilot group.

And that's because apparently we can't afford to keep them on full time trip loss? At least that's what I heard

There's no reason to pay them to sit around full time and do very little when there's nothing going on.

If our upgrade wasn't so fast up to this point I would agree.

To be honest, this leaves me a little uneasy.

No First Officers represented (while this contract will be serving long upgrade wait First Officers), all NC members from 1 council, nobody from the largest pilot base, and nobody from any LAS and DFW which represent a lot of pilots in the "slope issue" seniority block.

This isnt the NC fault, but an uneven representation of the pilot group at Spirit.

Here's what will happen. This will drag out for years and they will surely fix the slope. Reason being. There won't be and will never be 2,3,4,5,6 year CAs. So we will see $190 second year CAs because they won't exist here anymore

They will at the Legacies though

We are easily wasting the first whole quarter of 2016 with this new survey, introductory meetings with management and prep for section 6 negotiations. I knew this would be a slow process but this is just painful. Maybe we'll actually get a few sections TA'd by July...

I was one of these naive folks who thought we may get something early.. After seeing the numbers proposed, I realized we are years apart.. not months. Somehow I have been able to take a deep breath and become calm and understanding this process is gonna take a long time. I am a peace with it. I feel for the sake of self preservation some folks need to do the same.. Southwest was the latest example of airlines that have taken YEARS only to not ratify. What in the world would make you think our management is gonna give us a 'wow' contract in 6 months?!?! The quicker you realize 2017-2018 if more likely than this year the better off your blood pressure will be. Im dying for a raise. Im dying for better retirement. but I'm not going all clark griswald and paying for my in ground pool just yet. Im assuming I will be at our current rates for 2 more years and gonna plan accordingly. Im not leaving. IM happy here so i can't/won't vote with my feel by walking.. Just have to accept as many thousands before me have, and feel many guys on here should do the same. Budget with what you make now, take a vacation, take a deep breath and quit reading in between the lines on every single email we get.. Go out side. drink a beer. and chill… It'll happen but its not around the corner..
