The NC is supposed to be lead by the MEC, that's not how it works at Spirit. The same results as last time, they will come to us begging for a Strike vote to hide behind, then will give us a ****ty TA and claim we have no choice, no man's land, etc. There will be no more transition conflicts in it, no profit sharing (they don't believe in that), no retro (same there too). Please stop believing the BS, every other NC is transparent to their pilot groups, why not ours? SWA gets info on the TA the same day, we waited 3 weeks to see ours after a strike?!? What are you expecting with the same people?

BTW, nice touch at SWA, even deceased people and retirees get retro. Our NC doesn't even care about new hires, they lowered first year pay in this Struck contract?!?

You want change? Keep emailing your reps and demand new members on the NC, put forward a resolution, let DFW have it's own local, etc.

Time to start getting militant on this management, stop the handshakes, high fives, and give backs, relief, no quid still after over a year. Let's fly the contract to the letter.
I figure a Strike Vote is coming soon, which is one of the strongest messages of pilot unity we can send our management. Why do you not support a Strike Vote, Audi?

1. Change NC now and you can add another couple years to the process. I was in favor of a NC change a year ago, but it's too late now.

2. MEC chair is ALWAYS a member of the NC per the by-laws

3. If we spend OUR negotiating capital on profit sharing it's not only going to cost the company for pilots but for several thousand flight attendants also because of their me too clause. We will never see profit sharing because of that.

4. What do non-DFW pilots have to do with DFW getting it's own local? You can write resolutions until you're blue in the face, but you're not getting a local until the MEC recommends it unless you can get the executive council on board... good luck with that.

What does it matter if an instructor picks up a post Midnight sim if there are no students to train at that time, since no pilot is obligated buy contract to train post midnight?

And IF Grandma had nads she would be Grandpa.

New hire pilots WILL take the midnight sim slots. They will be asked, and as probationary pilots, they will feel obligated to do so and will do so.

Now it would be nice if every new hire felt 100% comfortable with declining the company's request (as probationary) and said "I dont care if it takes longer to get training done, im not doing the late sims."

I dont blame any new hire. They are being placed in a bad situation where they are forced to walk a thin line here on what to do and what is right to do. So lets not put the pressure on the new hire pilot to make that decision, it should be left to our instructors who are protected by the contract and have the 100% option to NOT take the sim slots, without fear of repercussions.

That being said, my prediction is there will be plenty of new hires agreeing to the midnight sims and there will be instructors willing to train during that time. And unlike other clear contract violations that the company has committed, this is fully compliant with the CBA.

Default Spirit of NKS, Part II

I was in support for replacing the nc a year ago but agree with ram that at this point it would only set us back.

I don't think much of anything should happen until we see how the next session goes. That said bullets in the chamber....

What we have seen over the summer was a very clear indication of the selfish "Me first" attitudes of our pilots. Without unity, real unity, we will not get a contract a second sooner than the labor market will force mgmt to give us one. Luckily from the looks of things that won't be too too much longer

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT FREAKING MIND WOULD COME TO WORK HERE GIVEN THE CURRENT LANDSCAPE OF THE INDUSTRY.

seriously we need to dissuade folks from making this really bad career decision

Let's also not forget that if we don't cover the training Spirit can request outside instructors. I don't think we want to find out if they can pull that off. We're already grieving the ground instructors.

Don't confuse him with the facts Ram. Defeats his strategy.

I agree! We have so many "me" centered, near sighted pilots! It's unbelievable. They have no shame working for subpar wages while stepping on our backs.

I also have no clue why anyone would come to this bottom feeder? It's us vs F9 in a race to the bottom...
