Anywhere that uses line pilots for sims pays their flight pay plus an override which even at regional is way more than $80/Hr. I just don't think I'd be a good advocate for one of the lowest paid Airbus pilot groups if I was willing to work for $50-$60 less an hour than my already atrocious pay.

I'll leave it at that.
I think you're confused. Airlines pay hourly plus overridde. A sim facility like flight safety, simuflite, higher power, etc isn't an airline. Most instructors are contractors and paid what I said. Very few are full time and salaried. Usually about $60k-$70k a year.

You think any of those places has any clue what my hourly rate is? Not to mention going to pay me something on top of it?

It's not about what those places pay. They pay that low for certain reasons. My point is if you make more here and know that we are grossly underpaid why go work for a discount elsewhere? People are going to do whatever but if a leader and someone that has 1/6th of the vote works as a Walmart greeter for extra money on their off days it doesn't instill confidence on what level of offer would get their yes vote.

The market is becoming insanely higher than us and I want guys in there that won't waste months more of our time with road shows and a vote on something that isn't even ratifiable even if the NC tells them it's the best they could get. I want guys that will stop it dead in its tracks.

Anyway let's assume they'll all do that because my previous post is not substantiated and I'll assume it's not happening.

Back to the Southwest TA. Any ideas on scope. That was the main reason for the no vote last time around. It was going to relax the codesharing language. FYI we have almost zero codesharing language.

In light of the latest developments, I suggest our NC and MEC provide us with an update on their current asking position. No more hiding behind their excuses about negotiations in public. Every other airline tells their pilots what the general position is. They also release the results of the survey.

Furthermore I suggest our union organize an informational picket at all the major crew bases during the Thanksgiving holiday rush. Also, billboards at the same airports as the pickets. Perhaps even smaller ads inside the terminals.

If this current leadership is not willing to be more aggressive in our cause perhaps we need to seriously consider a change.

Looks like you guys will finally have to face facts and recognize with the current NC nothing is going to happen that will make you the slightest bit happy. Unfortunately it will stay a secret squirrel club as long as you leave the current NC in place, which one member is the MEC chair now. The NC is supposed to be lead by the MEC, that's not how it works at Spirit. The same results as last time, they will come to us begging for a Strike vote to hide behind, then will give us a ****ty TA and claim we have no choice, no man's land, etc. There will be no more transition conflicts in it, no profit sharing (they don't believe in that), no retro (same there too). Please stop believing the BS, every other NC is transparent to their pilot groups, why not ours? SWA gets info on the TA the same day, we waited 3 weeks to see ours after a strike?!? What are you expecting with the same people?

BTW, nice touch at SWA, even deceased people and retirees get retro. Our NC doesn't even care about new hires, they lowered first year pay in this Struck contract?!?

You want change? Keep emailing your reps and demand new members on the NC, put forward a resolution, let DFW have it's own local, etc.

Time to start getting militant on this management, stop the handshakes, high fives, and give backs, relief, no quid still after over a year. Let's fly the contract to the letter.

Per the IRS it's imputed income for your buddy passes, non-rev passes etc. It is taken out in one area of your paycheck and returned in another. It's for tax purposes, just another way to screw you.

We'll see every competitor paying 250+ and us still at 187 for MORE pax. We ought to be comparing 757 pay to us at 228 pax[/QUOTE]

I talked to an AA F/A about their 787's. They hold LESS than Spirit 321's

Also the "small" configuration of DL 330's hold 234 pax.
