Spirit of NKS, Part II

I was in support for replacing the nc a year ago but agree with ram that at this point it would only set us back.
I don't think much of anything should happen until we see how the next session goes. That said bullets in the chamber....
What we have seen over the summer was a very clear indication of the selfish "Me first" attitudes of our pilots. Without unity, real unity, we will not get a contract a second sooner than the labor market will force mgmt to give us one. Luckily from the looks of things that won't be too too much longer
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT FREAKING MIND WOULD COME TO WORK HERE GIVEN THE CURRENT LANDSCAPE OF THE INDUSTRY.
seriously we need to dissuade folks from making this really bad career decision

I'm sure most people coming here now are using Spirit as a stepping stone/free A320 type rating. I went from Great Lakes to Ryan International in 1999 just to get a type and to get out of Great Lakes, I thought I'd be at a major in a year or two. Well, 9/11 put a stop to that, but I'm glad I wasn't at stuck at Great Lakes...
If the majors never call, Spirit is probably better than some regionals and most 135 operations.

What's more costly? Replacing these feckless leaders now or in a year when they send us Alligent minus $1.00?
First step- We need guys who will be transparent about what they are asking for.
And second step is getting leadership that not afraid to lean in. Picket and advertise explore ways to legally effect the process. Publish letters in support of those that don't pick up open time, call out those that do and ensure everyone is marching to the same drum. The "gotta get mine" guys have got to fall in line.

Guys/Gals-
Email your reps and demand to know what's going on with negotiations, strike vote, info picketing, what our ask is and will it keep going up with all these new TA's! Demand some info and some show of unity and sack!
Secondly, I'm sure I'll get blasted on here for this.... I think every pilot should put his name on the SA list. Take your time on the phone to make sure you get every detail of the trip.....
It's about time we get pi$$ed off and stop being bullied!

Perhaps an all pilot Conf call is a good idea at this point.

Everyone I talk to and fly with support our quest 100%!! But they might not agree with some of the ideas and retoric posted on this thread. So don't throw your fellow pilot under the bus.

Lol, took southwest what, 4 years to get a deal done, and that's without going to arbitration. There's not much anyone can do aside from letting the process work it way through. The larger the disparity NK is from market rates, the less like likely a deal will be done outside of a strike/arbitration. It's only been a year since the contract expired, it'll be 5+ years before a new one. Don't get too worked up, just sit back and enjoy the growth.

You are working for subpar wages. What makes you any different? And why are you still here, then?
