I sure as heck hope our ask just went up! How else will the company learn?

What we have seen over the summer was a very clear indication of the selfish "Me first" attitudes of our pilots. Without unity, real unity, we will not get a contract a second sooner than the labor market will force mgmt to give us one. Luckily from the looks of things that won't be too too much longer

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT FREAKING MIND WOULD COME TO WORK HERE GIVEN THE CURRENT LANDSCAPE OF THE INDUSTRY.

seriously we need to dissuade folks from making this really bad career decision

Amen! Anyone willing to come here needs to get their head checked. With just first year pay being 1/2 most others it's just a really stupid decision; among the other issues with our pay and benefits

I'm sure most people coming here now are using Spirit as a stepping stone/free A320 type rating. I went from Great Lakes to Ryan International in 1999 just to get a type and to get out of Great Lakes, I thought I'd be at a major in a year or two. Well, 9/11 put a stop to that, but I'm glad I wasn't at stuck at Great Lakes...

If the majors never call, Spirit is probably better than some regionals and most 135 operations.

Fine. I can get behind this. But after September 6 or 7? if they don't shake the tree a little will you agree to help me clean house?
What's more costly? Replacing these feckless leaders now or in a year when they send us Alligent minus $1.00?

First step- We need guys who will be transparent about what they are asking for.

And second step is getting leadership that not afraid to lean in. Picket and advertise explore ways to legally effect the process. Publish letters in support of those that don't pick up open time, call out those that do and ensure everyone is marching to the same drum. The "gotta get mine" guys have got to fall in line.

Guys/Gals-

Email your reps and demand to know what's going on with negotiations, strike vote, info picketing, what our ask is and will it keep going up with all these new TA's! Demand some info and some show of unity and sack!

Secondly, I'm sure I'll get blasted on here for this.... I think every pilot should put his name on the SA list. Take your time on the phone to make sure you get every detail of the trip.....

It's about time we get pi$$ed off and stop being bullied!

Perhaps an all pilot Conf call is a good idea at this point.

You are working for subpar wages. What makes you any different? And why are you still here, then?
Everyone I talk to and fly with support our quest 100%!! But they might not agree with some of the ideas and retoric posted on this thread. So don't throw your fellow pilot under the bus.

Get a clue! Who's side are you on? Promoting that stuff is not what we are trying to do. It's attitudes like that is why we have nothing to show for the last year. It's a different world now and Swa knows it. Let's try something new a press them, then sit back and enjoy.

Yep, I sure am. But I fly my line and that's it. I don't work special deals around the CBA to get "mine"! I'm also doing my part to help better things here. So open your eyes a little and think about how ones actions affect this process. I'd say you're blind if you agree that the guys crediting over 150 plus hours monthly while bailing out the company is helping your "FELLOW PILOT!" GMAFB!

So funny how guys flip flop.. Years ago you were ripping guys that told others to "leave then". I hope you're not a non green lanyard wearing pilot because it says SPA PILOTS!
