Ok they wouldn't be hiring us because of our type or the fact that our smiles are free.

If AA, delta, and united each hired a dozen people to start class say in June or July. There would be massive amounts of cancled flights.

That's the point someone was trying to make, good talk.

I really don't know, is that legal or does that violate some sort of anti-competitive regulation? Seem like it would

It would be just as bad if not worth than price fixing/seat dumping to put a competitor out of business, and I think that's illegal if you did it on a massive scale.

Again, I don't know.

Again, I don't know.

Well I suppose the regionals can put together a great class action suit against the legacies then.

Give me a break....

Speaking of getting hired, has anyone used the the "Basic Service" (free service) on airline apps to get to UAL? Or heard of anyone who was hired using the free service??

You know the pay here is horrendous when you can't afford $55.00 for a yearly subscription

Hahaha! No reason to spend cash on things that are not needed.

Nah I just used A320 as an example 'cause that was the aircraft given in the post that started this all......A320, 737, E175, F-16; whatever.

Out.

What a an absolutely ridiculous and pathetic statement "on a massive scale" as you put it.

The free account is only good for a year, IIRC. Then you have to start all over again. Not sure if you lose your "place" in the queue at that point; I know (well, pretty certain anyways) that Delta and United's algorithm likes to see regular updates to the apps on file for consideration.

Everyone I talked to who got hired at United within the past year all had their apps in for 3-12 years. Here I thought guys were just throwing their names in the hat and getting called right away, but nope, the shortest timeframe for response for non-military, non-NASA, non-{insert minority group du jour here} was three years.

So yeah, you're better off just ponying up the dough.
