Spirit of NKS, Part II

The transition code is to show a removal of a trip and should have the pay protected credit there. BUT depending on the transition, they may have added a reserve day in there or another trip that is contractually compliant.
Email the scheduling committee with scheduling questions, it will help you learn how to read these codes. "The forum said" will not hold up if you're out drinking during a reserve period you didn't know was on there (happened before with guys)

Stock is up 5%, I think it'll adjust after the street and analysts digest the data.
Looks like EPS exceeded expectations, costs were down, total revenue missed, and PRASM is down from last year. The PRASM and Mr. Fornaro's warning about yields may affect the stock price going forward. If it wasn't for the decrease in costs, I think the stock would be in much trouble.
Update: looks like the street is starting to digest the TRASM (as Spirit reports it) decline. The stock is now up only 2%.

No, it isn't growing. DFW has fluctuated from 99 to 106 FO's for the last year. 1 vacancy is well within the 'margin of error'. But, none of the other bases are growing as well that I watch (ORD and LAS, my numbers for DTW and ACY don't go back as far) but FLL is growing by leaps and bounds. FLL added 17 FO's (this is where I mistakenly got the 17 number for DFW) from July to August. Why we're adding so much out of FLL is outside of my scope.
This is and always will be a little B.S. airline. Everything that we do will be, and Bob is right, low tier to everyone else except probably Allegiant. I expect jetBlue +5% or so on the numbers with a compromise on transition. But NK will never lead the pack and that's OK. We aren't Delta, American, or United. And most of our pilots couldn't get hired at those three and Miramar knows that. There are advantages here that suit some people and right now it does me. But I won't commute for this 'let's drive to Long Beach, the Galleria, and Livonia to save a buck airline' if they close DFW. I'll put my stuff out, as everyone should, and if I get a better offer I'll take it.
I'm not married to NK and it doesn't define who I am. I fly for money and have to balance that against time at home and QOL at both home and on the road. The second another outfit tips the scale I'm gone. Simple as that.

Supposedly Spirit has big plans to expand and grow well beyond 2021 (hence looking at C-300s). You can't expand without pilots. We are the commodity and, in time, we will have to be well compensated to retain and attract pilots in order to grow. I'd imagine an Allegiant-like pay scale plus more. The first LCC to boost pay will have first dibs on the regional FOs (since most Allegiant, Frontier, JetBlue, and Spirit new-hires are Regional FOs). If they make this place attractive to have them STAY, then I don't see why Spirit can't become the next SWA @500 planes and 5000 pilots in 15-20 years (that might include a merger down the road :/)

More than a billion dollars in the bank and they can't spread the love to the employees? This place is ridiculous!
