Spirit of NKS, Part II
#8651
I don't understand how some here can think that this petition is a binding document that the NC has to follow. It doesn't force them to do anything. All it does, it shows the company that there are for now 20% of the pilots that will turn down a TA that doesn't have retro pay. It now means that if another 31% are not happy with the conditions offered, they will also turn it down.
It will just be harder for the company to come up with a low tier offer and pass a TA. Remember that a 51% passing TA is a major success for the company.
This petition just gives a boost to our NC in current negotiations.

Does anybody have a link to that petition?
Also, does that 20% include the several flight attendants and the chap from Cornhole, KS that also signed?
When you misstate or spin the facts you are no different than the alpa regimes you rail against. Makes me wonder if it's the coruption that bothers you or the fact your group isn't part of it.

TC will likely be on board as well. They may not say so publicly, but when the time comes they'll vote in a way favorable to DFW.

RP and JA both spoke of the risks of this and how it could play if FLL called for a Roll Call vote on an issue, say open time pickups outside of base (which can be called for a roll call vote).
Just saying to be cautious with the motives of others, they might not be as pure as you hope them to be.

The Change.org petition is Bush League! The first letter in CBA stands for Collective. Meaning we collectively agree to an agreement, if their are 6 LEC's, 15 Change.org petitions demanding full retro, southwest +1, 20% direct contribution, and all the other wants that benefit one sector of the pilot group we will never get a deal done. I commute so I want every pairing to start after 3pm and end before 9am, maybe I should start a petition. You guys aren't righting a wrong, fixing an injustice, or anything productive. The 20% is making the other 80% look like idiots.

That was a huge missed opportunity. I don't think anyone would disagree. However it is easy to play Monday morning quarterback. At the time (I wasn't here) I believe our new contract was industry leading in pay aside from southwest. Correct me if I'm wrong. I have a hard time calling them incompetent because of that. Anyways I'm a "bird in the hand is better than two in the bush" kinda guy. perhaps that was their thought process. You'd have to ask them.

Well I'm sure they both would be for DFW and DFW having their own local. The more the power is diluted amongst the other locals, the stronger FLL becomes.
