I'm starting to think our only hope for a new NC and standard pay is to be bought by Southwest.

So ORD, ACY & DTW can all be one LEC but DFW should have their own? Our energy needs to be spent elsehwere, sorry

Just curious, who's planning to run for these new lec officer positions?
I heard MN was going to run for CA rep, but when the going got tough, he was nowhere to be found..

If any of those 3 bases want their own they should have it. Do a little research on other airlines and their local representation. I'll give you a clue they don't have to travel so far for their meetings. The argument against DFW's own local is all about the division of power at the MEC level. I know it was asked about before we entered "focused negotiations" so it's not a sudden movement. The reason it is just now becoming a known topic to everyone is that a group of guys finally put the work in on their own time to research and submit the request through the proper channels (i.e. Resolution). It wasn't enough to simply put it as a motion at a meeting a year ago.

I believe that is up to the pilots in those respective domiciles. What you are witnessing is grass-roots democracy in action. I will say that we have a group of pilots getting ready for the upcoming LEC109 nominations. We've also been in contact with some ORD pilots interested in getting their own LEC up and running and leaving DTW and ACY. We have a motivated group here who are willing to put in the time to effect the desired change. All in due time.

You can have a voice. Next time the 109 elections are held, vote in one (or more) of the DFW people.

Yes they are.

There is obviously a lot of emotion around this issue.

Exactly. The time has passed for a new NC...at least until a TA is delivered.

Exactly! Hell, I'm all for DFW getting their own council if it happens. I'm also hopeful we give Texas back to Mexico.
I promise you DFW LEC types, you're not getting an LEC before we sign a new CBA. You need executive council approval and that'll never happen before the CBA is signed. Too much at stake to shake up the apple cart like that. Keep you eye on the prize and if you still want your council after we get a new deal...go for it. Until then, it's not happening.

Well the MEC and NC are too busy negotiating concessions for keeping ACY open, I doubt there's time to organize a separate LEC for it. 🙄
