Just ran a few numbers based on being a junior captain at Spirit vs the new Delta and subsequently United snap-up numbers. Even if you are a junior captain at Spirit or will be by January 2017, if you were to get hired at one of those companies it would only take 4 years based on 75 hours a month at the potential rates to make your money back. THAT IS FOR PAY ONLY. It doesn't even include retirement or profit sharing/ bonus plans which skew the numbers even more.
It will happen.

Nice of you to pop up once in awhile to blame your fellow pilots for something, even when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Yeah, I used to think that too. Here's the difference between now and the last time the furloughs happened: RETIREMENTS.
A whole crapload of them. So many that any furlough would be mitigated by them. Movement would slow or stop for a little while, but it's unlikely that you would end up on the street. Even if it was so bad that they really had to furlough, it wouldn't be a long one.

Even though Spirit is a giant suckhole of ****, we will have a contract within 4 years so it isn't as simple as you make it seem.
Pay is only one of the reasons to leave this depressing ****hole run by idiots

Also, in 4 years, Tranquilitie's boy Trump will probably find a way to end the world. That would also negate our contract.

Maybe, maybe not. 4 years is an eternity in this Industry. Only thing I know is I absolutely go to work and don't give a flying F----- if we go out late or if If I delay the flight because of a safety issue. I simply have zero F----- left to give

5 year Captain here...depressing as it is... four years to get back to square 1 is a big pill to swallow. Retirement and profit sharing is VERY important and lucrative long term. I hate to admit it but the goons in Miramar have me by the short hairs. I live a very frugal and modest lifestyle but with kids and appropriate saving and retirement planning the thought of starting over scares me. And the reality is, there's no way in hell we won't have a contract in four years. If we don't someone please repost this four years from today and make me eat my words. I suppose anything is possible. The point is our ask from June was omitting the new SWA book and the pending DAL AIP which lets just assume will pass. Truly hope they are trolling this board and understand how much more money they just cost themselves by playing this stall tactic. It will bite them in the long run. In the meantime let them pretend they run an employee friendly airline while FOs are leaving in droves. Never ceases to amaze me how truly clueless JS and JB are.

Damn good post. And Those two scumbags aren't clueless. They just don't fng care. It's the American way. **** your employees and squeeze them as much as you can to enrich the share holders.
I still can't believe that Tilton wasn't murdered when UAL went BK and he gave himself a multi million dollar bonus. Guys committed suicide over that. I'm truly surprised he wasn't a target

Obviously the picketing but what are other ways we can show investors how much we ******ing loath our management? How utterly dissatisfied we are with a "quick upgrade" and these patronizing high five type schemes meant for elementary children?
