Probationary new hires are not going to tell the company that they are not going to do late night sims. All the Union can say is "its optional if you want to take the late sim," which im guess 95% of the new hires will take because they dont want to rock the probationary boat.

I dont blame the new hires, I would be very hesitant to tell the company to shove it after only a week on property.

Guys, I'm not quite sure where the rumor that we're doing sim sessions at 0300 started. That hasn't happened. The last sim sessions are schedule to end at 2330.

Plus, there is no instructor open time for pickup for a sim at 0300.

In the future? Who knows? As we grow, the union may sign off on round the clock sims, but as of now, that's not the case.

Another well written section in the contract.

Highly highly doubt this. Thats a HUGE contract concession while we are currently arbitrating an issue regarding training.

This is not the unions problem that there isnt enough sim time to get training done.

You're in training. Will you be accepting training slots at 3am if Jyri tells them to schedule it?

Thanks. I didn't think it was happening yet but someone mentioned they saw it in instructor open time. This has been discussed and JS MO want it to happen and claim they will get plenty of "volunteers". Now more than ever we need you guys to tell them to pound sand. Of course many instructors gobble up open time at straight pay like its candy. We are in negotiations!!

Check your September instructor open time. Almost all MIA is at night and some FLL too. I'm not posting a pic but it's not a rumor.

I'm not sure why this is such a shocker. Google 747-400D (as in Domestic) used by JAL and ANA.

I'm a new hire, all my sims start at 2315 in MIA next month. The company told us it would be a much longer delay in training which meant more time at training pay. They were clear they could not force anyone to take it.

My man, that is called coercion. Basically gave you the ultimatum of backside sims OR deal with thier joke training pay for longer than anyone should.

Im assuming they didn't tell you that you would be paid regular pay after 90 days if you were still not done with training? Chalk up some seniority while they try and find you a sim slot, miss out on ACY all together since you'll have a few more system bid chances to get your preferred base. Im sure none of this was told to you.

I've done sims here that end around 11pm, its hard to stay at 100% in the fast paced sim world until almost midnight. I can't imagine making initial training more difficult by making people perform to the high standards required while battling against your circadian rhythm.

"Ok, you'll see 2 or 3 V1 cuts before your checkride, lets get these in around 3am this morning"
