There's no way we will be little stand-alone Spirit in 10 years. All the legacies have merged. No room for that happening again. But we could slip under the radar with another ULCC or even a legacy, I think.

My guess: AA will buy us very soon to make use of the fact that their contract isn't up until 2020. This would give AA a huge increase in Airbus fleet for comparatively low legacy rate for 3 ~ 4 years. Parker just said he will give an industry LEADING contract when the contract in amendable (who SAYS THAT 4 YEARS PRIOR??) But he did. I read it.

40 (FORTY) new hires scheduled for Jan 2017. Is this a new record? 3 classes instead of two. DT's "updated" vacancy shows an increase (to 40) from a previous e-mail that showed the 3 class dates, meaning they were able to find more new-hires for each class. Since we are only getting 15 new planes next year, I wonder if this 3rd monthly class is is to cover attrition.

Euro still having to lie to job fairs saying upgrades in 3 years? That's the only way anyone would consider this place.

I was told by a new hire, pilot-uniformed ground instructor that DFW sims will also be utilized. He says the company is trying to hire 45+ a month indefinitely. He also said some new hires are hiring to legacies before completing ground school! (And a smattering of guys not making it through training).

3 years ago they would need 22 new FOs for the month, for growth and little to zero attrition. Today they need to offer 40 a month a class date, knowing that some won't even show and to cover for much more attrition on the seniority list.
You don't hire 40 FOs and upgrade 8 when everything is "going well". It's going to get worse for them and I enjoy watching the FO class numbers increase because it sure isn't a marker of growth, more so a sign that hiring is becoming an issue.
