Captain on my commute flight said an aircraft slid off the runway into the grass around 11:30 am in DTW. Details? Be careful!

I didn't listen to the podcast, but I was there for the picketing, and heard what the union guys said. They said they've TARGETED Feb/March to get to economic sections. So basically all that means is that they'd like that to happen. I'd like that to happen too. I just haven't seen anything AT ALL so far to indicate that we would be able to TA seven sections in two months.

I also wouldn't doubt if Bendo said he's "targeting" that too. He can say all kinds of things like that, and then after another year of TA'ing a section every two months, he'll just say, "Well, I really wanted that to happen, but these things just take time..."

I'd like to be optimistic as well. I really would. But I'm a realist, and the progress over the last two years would indicate that we are nowhere near discussing economic sections.

We can "target" all we want. Doesn't mean a thing.

I agree with you on the rest. This group is getting more upset, but still lacks the sack to do what it takes.
75% of us want to do whatever it takes to make a difference. We are waiting on leadership.
The union must come out now and talk about the need to ensure the RVSM areas are clear and all maintenance items are written up correctly and to double check and triple check each write up with maintenance and all the other suggestions on here.
Also, union reassurances that they will vigorously assist any members questioned for said actions.
Of course they also need to find a way to legally remind some of us how we are delaying a TA every time we move a plane outside our original bid award.
Making it official will go a long way.
But we get crickets.

Can't they just give us a hammer that says "whatever it takes" so FO's can "find some dents" in the RVSM area on walk arounds?

Dude...W T F are you doing? Regardless of your opinion of this, posting notes on a public forum WITH somebody's name on it is not cool and only makes you look like a huge douche. There are definitely better ways to handle this.
