Pilots here are forced to pick up open time just to make ends meet. My last captain in FLL had to buy a car that was made in Germany! He couldn't afford a regular one.

Also how is LAS seniority wise for FOs? Looking for a short commute from LAX.
App to interview can be as short as a few weeks to many months. Internal recs and job fairs seem to be the key. Class dates are about 4 to 6 weeks from interview. LAS is about 6 months from DOH. It's the most senior base for FO's.

So anyone who is considering applying will cross the picket line? Can you explain that logic?

Wonder how they are enjoying the "basic economy ticket" clientele.

Dang, I'm usually dripping with sarcasm, and I still missed it. Sorry 'bout that.

Hey man, I'm just asking a question. I'm just looking to get out of the regionals.

Hey man, as long as "its better than your regional"

Make sure you share this story with Jyri, he will love how you Fly it like you own it! It made me laugh because it just screams the regional mentality, "where every minute matters" and heck, "we dont have time for dispatch to be in on the decision making process." Dispatch is on almost EVERY decision on my flight deck, their name is on the release too. Maybe its a maturation process that comes over time.

My company's reputation is on the line along with DL/AA's reputation. If we get in even one or two minutes late it can be the difference in a pax making their connection or them closing up and being left for the night. People have funerals, graduations, weddings, surgeries, etc to go to. For each of our flights I bet there is one or two people traveling because of a family emergency and I want to get them to the destination on time. I don't always have time to explain it twice to a someone that can't do a damn thing about it. We're a team and sometimes that means dispatch stepping back for a minute and letting the pilots and MXC work something out before getting to them.
Hope you get Delta because this story would work great for them, not for us. This isnt a company that cares about passengers, or their employees for that matter.
