Quote: I agree, many of our pairings are inefficient. I thought that NKS wanted Pref bid, ability to reassign, not allow reserves to drop, get rid of transition, get rid of 29 hr limit.....
These all seem like things to make it easier to fly us like a regional and max us out to the most extent possible. Why wouldn't they want that?
29/7 needs to go away as that hurst me. I would rather make my hours in fewer days than have to work more days for the same hours. When I come to work let's fly and not sit in MSP for 30 hours. I'd take three 25 hour four days every single month. Drop 29/7, increase daily guarantee, and make them build efficient trips.

That's fine but let the company give us something for it. They would benefit more than us. They fought it in arbitration so it's valuable to them,

We also fought really hard for Red/green so if they want it to go away, that's fine, I expect a $100/hr raise or I'll just keep Contract and drop every single middle day and have them pay me $130,000 a year to fly 150hrs a year, fuggggg em

I bid a line that gave me 29.01 in transition which made them drop 6 days of flying giving me 19 off this month. What works for you may not for others.

I'm not trying to negotiate online here, I was just simply referring to the article I posted in spending more time in cosmic radiation.
If you are interested in having certain aspects of the contract negotiated for you, reach out to your rep and tell them.

I'll tell why guys are going to SWA, I have a friend over there and he showed me his schedule, three 3 day trips with a credit of 80 trips. Second year f/o makes in the 120's per hour and with the dc they make more than a 5 year capt here. New hires at SWA can choose their base right out of training except for atl and mdw I think. There has been a big uptick in resignations since November and that comes from the most reliable source.

Quote: A ten year captain is leaving for SWA. What does that say?
Well good for him if they feel like its the better career move.

He is in for one heck of a work load increase going from Airbus CA to SWA FO. Every time I sit in a SWA j/s im amazed at the "busy work" that the antiquated 737s have for the FOs.

What I heard when BF said (BF...hehehehe-Peter Griffin laugh) was that our current contracts work rules were negotiated 10-12 years ago. As in the 2003 CBA.

Also I was glad to see BF's yearly email to the company...good for him.

And he'll flip all those switches with a shiit eating grin because he'll have less worry that he'll be ready for retirement. It's millions of dollars.

I would gladly flip a few extra switches if it meant getting pairings that are doubly as efficient as ours, in turn getting more time at home (for more pay) I agree with Mac that we need more efficient flying. I don't like one leg a day to sit for extended periods of time. I actually started flying to get my work done and go home. Not to find places to sit around. I can easily do that on my own time if I had many days off with good pay. I think this is not only good for us but good for the company as well. More efficient flying means better staffing for them. I don't really understand why a majority of airlines refuse to make efficient pairings.
