Hiring to resume in earnest

I believe UA (21), Condor (15), Thomas Cook (5) Icelandair (1) and Arkia (2) are the RR 757-300 operators. Delta is the only PW operator.

It takes, roughly, 86hrs of WB FO to get to 73hrs (reserve guar) of LNB CA pay.
FWIW, I looked at my 10/16 pay stub and I have 1,001 hours of pay (regular earnings) for the year so far. That range of work is actually from Dec of 16 to Sept of 17, though, since we are paid in arrears. FWIW my block for the same 10 month period was 646 hours. Probably more flying than some fleets, but it's not exactly busting ass.

I plan on narrow body captain till I retire.. father died of a brain tumor and neurologist said she sees a lot of wide body international pilots with brain tumors. She says domestic is much safer and wear sunscreen. So has nothing to do with "wanting the fourth stripe" I just dont want to put my body through that.
I don't doubt it's unhealthy. There isn't any type of flying we do long term that is healthy.
Fortunately (or unfortunately depending how one looks at it), there's a lot more domestic (and almost all daylight/no time zone issues) flying coming to the 777 these days. You don't have to cross the pole unless you are so inclined to.

From NYC Council 5 update today.
Hiring Plan
Management has reportedly reevaluated their pilot manpower requirements for summer 2018 and 2019 and have decided to spool up pilot training and hiring. We are reluctant to raise our pilots’ expectations as previous estimates have fluctuated substantially, but here is the latest information:
The company is planning additional near-term vacancy bids and four new-hire classes for the rest of 2017. The first class is planned for 11/13/17 and would include 23 returning 'furloughees' in a class of approximately 75 total pilots. 3 more new-hire classes of approximately 50 pilots are planned for 2017.
According to senior management, based on their imminent acquisition of 30-40 used A319s & A320s they would need to hire an average 60/pilots per month or nearly 2,000 pilots over next 32 months based on their current 2019 block hour projection. This will require restarting interviewing pilots in December.
Please keep in mind of course, that this is subject to change and seems to do so often as the UA long term planning department meets daily.
